Posted: 17 Jul 2011 12:34 PM PDT

On Saturday, Allie is Wired attended the World Premiere of Hollywood to Dollywood, an amazing documentary that made us laugh and cry. See more below!

The film, debuting at Outfest 2011, follows twin brothers Gary and Larry Lane’s quest to deliver a script to one of their idols, Dolly Parton. They embark on a cross-country journey from Hollywood to Pigeon Forge,TN (Dollywood) to personally deliver it to her. The journey is also one of discovery for the brothers who speak very candidly about their homosexuality, relationships, and the bigotry they’ve encountered. The documentary follows the twins as they search for tolerance, acceptance and Dolly Parton; all in an RV named Jolene.

See the trailer for a sneak peek:

Through the twins’ love for Dolly Parton and desire for acceptance, they’ve created a clever film that is bound to inspire and touch anyone who has ever experienced intolerance.

The Lane Twins are taking the documentary to many amazing Film Festivals around the country but still need funding in order to distribute the film on DVD. You can help bring Hollywood to Dollywood to a broader audience by pledging to their Kick Starter Fund.
