Throughout the streets of Pasadena you'll find performances from tons of musicians on different stages. Stages include Indie Rock, World Music, Emerging Artists and more. Get information about headliners like Ra Ra Riot and more performers here. When: June 18, 2011 11:00am-Midnight  The new Splendid Store is opening at the Grove this weekend and Crafting Community is joining in the opening festivities. On Sunday you will find interactive workshops and crafting that is perfect for Father's Day! Enjoy treats and gift bags as well. | Tom Cruise in Rock of Ages (Photo) Posted: 17 Jun 2011 02:26 PM PDT Here’s your first look at Tom Cruise as a womanizing rocker in Adam Shankman's big-screen adaptation of the Tony-nominated Broadway musical, Rock of Ages. In Rock of Ages, Cruise transforms into Stacee Jaxx, a superstar devotee of hair-band excess.  “His character has elements of Axl Rose, Keith Richards and Bret Michaels,” says director Adam Shankman. “We did a huge amount of research on what people were going through in this period. I knew a lot of these people because my dad was a music business manager.” Rock of Ages is set for a June 2012 release. |
| Lady Gaga Performs ‘Hair’ … Bald (Video) Posted: 17 Jun 2011 01:51 PM PDT Lady Gaga performed ‘Hair‘, while sporting a bald head, while performing ‘Hair’ on a special edition of Paul O'Grady Live. Rock the bald!  Speaking of the upcoming visit, Paul said, "Its three years since we last met and she has achieved so much in that time. I'm looking forward to meeting her again – she's a brilliant musician and performer and I have great respect for her." During the song's famous lyric of self-identification, Gaga ran her hand over her bald scalp and paused dramatically, and about half way through, she stopped to grab an aqua-colored wig from a stand on her piano, finishing the song with it on. I’m sure there’s some sort of message in all of that, but don’t ask me what it is. Do you think she lost enough hair from all the chemicals… and said to hell with it? |
| Britney Spears Rides Her Guitar & Femme Fatale Set List (Photos/Video) Posted: 17 Jun 2011 10:51 AM PDT Britney Spears kicked off her Femme Fatale tour at the Power Balance Pavilion in Sacremento last night and from the looks of her riding her guitar — it was definitely a spectacle. Weeeeeeeeee!  Brit’s boyfriend of two years, Jason Trawick was at her side backstage, giving the costumed Spears an apparent good luck-hug in a photo she Tweeted before taking the stage.  A slew of fan videos recorded last night capture the pop star running through her stacked back catalog, along with new hits like “Hold It Against Me” and “I Wanna Go.” A couple of lucky Britney worshipers even got to join the singer onstage and pose for a few photos. After the Sacramento show wrapped, Spears posted on Twitter, “Can’t sleep. WAY too much Adrenaline right now. Sacramento was on fire tonight. You ready San Jose? Cause I am!!!!” The Femme Fatale tour continues Saturday at San Jose, Calif.’s HP Pavilion, and ends its U.S. run on Aug. 25 before heading to Europe in September. | Lady Gaga Releases ‘The Edge Of Glory’ (Video) Posted: 17 Jun 2011 08:56 AM PDT Lady Gaga‘s video for “The Edge of Glory,” the latest single off Born This Way premiered last night during So You Think You Can Dance. Fans were on the edge of their seats, highly anticipating what incredible extravaganza Gaga had in store for her little monsters.  But after its premiere last night, fans were left dumbfounded and confused. No story, no costume changes, no back-up dancers? Surely there must be some mistake. And what’s up with the old man with the saxophone? The simple yet moody clip also features E Street Band saxophonist (and featured player on “The Edge of Glory”) Clarence Clemons, whose health took a turn for the worse on Sunday (June 12) after suffering a stroke. Was this video too much stress? |
| Christina Aguilera Causing Tension On ‘The Voice’ Set Posted: 17 Jun 2011 07:04 AM PDT Tensions backstage on the hit NBC show "The Voice" between judges Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine are at an all time high. Sources have come forward saying Levine and Blake Shelton are upset that Aguilera is being paid $225,000 per episode while they are only making $75,000.
Apparently, Levine is also angered over Aguilera's huge entourage, which includes two hair and makeup people, an assistant and a producer. “They [Levine and Shelton] are all so annoyed by her,” a source told Page Six. “Every time she walks away with her entourage, they talk about her behind her back. She holds people up and never apologizes.” Sources say Aguilera will not speak to the other judges during commercial breaks. “When the cameras are rolling, she literally won’t shut up,” says the insider. “It is all about her.” In an effort to refute such rumors Levine’s rep said, “This is absolutely false. Adam loves Christina, and they just recorded a song together. All the judges had a party at Blake’s house the other night after the show.” Aguilera’s rep on the other hand is quoted as saying, “No comment.” I’m not a fan of the whole diva thing, I miss sloppy, drunk Christina. |
| ‘Jersey Shore’ Cast Wants More Money Again Posted: 17 Jun 2011 06:25 AM PDT Not unlike a bad case of herpes, the Jersey Shore is back for another season. Plans for a fifth season of the hit MTV show are in motion, but TMZ reports that the whole 'guido' gang is looking for new contracts.
Sources say MTV threw out the Season 4 contracts once the lawyers for the cast refused to allow for another season without a pay raise. Reportedly, the majority of the cast has already signed the contracts for the larger salary. The cast will return from Italy on the 23rd and will start shooting the new season in Jersey on the 26th. Does the cast really deserve another pay raise? I think so, but then again I also consider them American Royalty. Snookie is our Kate Middleton! |
