One of the top 5-word acceptance speeches came from Dan Savage of It Gets Better who said "Tracy Morgan can suck my…" in response to the comedian's recent controversial remarks. In another notable five-word speech, Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour delivered remarks clearly aimed at her audience: “Sometimes geek can be chic,” the legendary editor said. And, ignoring the famous Webby Award five-word speech protocol, funny man Will Ferrell accepted Funny or Die‘s award via video alongside site co-founders Adam McKay and Chris Henchy with a haiku. “Thanks for this award. I will put it in my house next to my instructional poetry textbooks. Thank you.” Other big-named attendees included Daniel Radcliffe, Adrian Grenier, John Mayer, Will Ferrell (via a special surprise video speech), Brooke Shields, Lisa Lampanelli, Marlon Wayans, Norah Jones, James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, Antoine Dodson, Damian Kulash of OK Go, and Darrell Hammond, amongst many others. |

Angelina Jolie Looks Good Even Without Makeup Posted: 13 Jun 2011 01:53 PM PDT Angelina Jolie is featured in an ad campaign for the iconic fashion brand Louis Vuitton looking stunning, but without wearing any makeup. As if there wasn't enough evidence that Angelina Jolie was a flawless, goddess-like woman, here she is in nothing but her own clothes and a boat in Cambodia and she still looks like a million bucks. The photoshoot took place in Cambodia, the same country Jolie decided to adopt her eldest son, Maddox. Jolie is the newest celebrity to pose for the fashion brand's "Core Values" campaign, she joins other personalities such as Bono and Sean Connery. While unveiling the image Pietro Beccari, Louis Vuitton's executive vice president, had this to say, "People are not used to seeing Angelina in this situation. I like the fact that it's a real moment. This travel message we give through personal journeys is a fundamental one for the brand." Let me just say, I highly doubt anyone, but Angelina, would be able to afford Louis Vuitton in Cambodia. |
Kim Kardashian To Take Brett Lockett To Court Posted: 13 Jun 2011 11:29 AM PDT Kim Kardashian is taking her alleged ‘sexting’ buddy, Bret Lockett to court. According to sources, Kim's lawyers are putting together a defamation lawsuit against Lockett. Lockett has come forward saying that himself and Kardashian had a physical relationship and that they had been hooking up after she started dating Kris Humphris. On Friday though, Lockett admitted to CNN that he had never actually met Kim. But Lockett did say that although they were never physically together they did have sexual phone calls and plenty of ‘sexting’. “I’ve said before that it was a physical relationship, but I say that meaning there was a physical aspect in the relationship,” Lockett said. “She did tell me that she was touching herself in a physical way over the phone, towards me. So when I say physical, that’s what I mean.” Lockett is sticking by his story by saying, “I do not plan on apologizing or retracting anything. What I’ve said is the complete, honest truth and you can’t fault someone for telling the truth. That’s just plain and simple.” Seems like someone's clinging to those 15 minutes of fame. |
Warren Beatty To Make ‘Dick Tracy’ Sequel Posted: 13 Jun 2011 07:18 AM PDT The film Dick Tracy hit theaters in 1990 and had an all star cast that included Warren Beatty, Al Pacino, and Madonna. Twenty one years later, Beatty, who still owns the character rights is set to reprise the role of the famous detective. The film opened last weekend’s L.A. Times Hero Complex Film Festival and Beatty attended the festival to talk about the film. The 74 year old actor/director held a 90 minute Q&A at the event where he said he would most definitely be doing a sequel to Dick Tracy. In March, Beatty won a court battle allowing him to retain rights to the character which he has held since 1985 when he acquired them from Tribune Media Services. The LA Times' Geoff Boucher brought up the sequel and Beatty said "I'm gonna make another one." “I think it's dumb to talk about movies before you make them. I just don't do it. It gives you a perfect excuse to avoid making them. The more you talk about it, the longer it's hidden,” he continued. So when exactly is the Dick Tracy sequel going to hit the big screen? Well, no one actually knows. Hopefully it will be made before Beatty turns 90, because really, who wants to see a comic book detective wearing Depends Undergarments? Then again… |
Pippa Middleton Is Newly Single Posted: 13 Jun 2011 06:54 AM PDT Princess Catherine‘s sexy sister Pippa Middleton is making headlines worldwide again this week due to her newly single status. The younger sibling has reportedly broken off her relationship to fellow Brit Alex Loudon. The cause for the split is said to stem from Pippa’s recent ‘celebrity’ status, and that Alex simply could/would not put up with the constant media scrutiny. A source close to Alex spoke with U.K.’s Sun newspaper saying “Pippa has become very high profile and it’s put a strain on things. They’re moving in different circles.” It seems as though Pippa won’t stay on the market for long though. She was spotted having a romantic three hour dinner with the wealthy Duke of Northumberland‘s son George Percy last week. The pair previously dated while they were flatmates at Edinburgh University. The Duke’s son is said to be worth an estimated £315 million. Wow! |
Daniel Radcliffe Performs At The Tony Awards & Winners List (Video) Posted: 13 Jun 2011 06:00 AM PDT Daniel Radcliffe showed everyone at the 2011 Tony Awards, he can sing! The 21-year-old actor performed the song "Brotherhood of Man", alongside his “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” cast mates. Although Radcliffe didn't get nominated, it sounds like he already won based on the producer's admiration and respect for him. Neil Meron, producer of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, told OK magazine, "My business partner and I were the ones that talked Dan into doing this show. He always wanted to do a Broadway musical and we've been talking for a couple of years about which one it should be so we settle on this." He added, "His dream was to star in a Broadway musical and we thought the perfect role for him would be Finch and it works, it really does fit him." So, what is Dan really like back stage? "He's articulate and he's smartest, kindest, giving person we've ever worked with. And at 21 he's a young man that has everything." Neil Patrick Harris kicked off the awards show at New York’s Beacon Theater with a song-and-dance number about how “the Tonys are not just for gays anymore.” It involved Stephen Colbert, Brooke Shields, Bobby Cannavale and bunch of bleeps. Winners List, After the jump!

Debra Messing, Katharine McPhee’s New TV Series ‘Smash’ (Video) Posted: 13 Jun 2011 05:36 AM PDT Emmy award winner Debra Messing is teaming up with American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee in a new television dramedy called Smash. McPhee stars as Karen Cartwright a waitress in NYC, who is struggling to make her Broadway dreams come true. Messing, who one an Emmy for her starring role in Will & Grace, co-stars as the creator of a musical production based on the life of Marilyn Monroe. Legendary silver screen director/producer Steven Spielberg is listed as executive producer for the new show, which has been picked up by NBC. The pilot also features Oscar winner Anjelica Huston in a supporting role. Check out the promo. The show will feature both original songs, as well as popular covers like Christina Aguilera‘s Beautiful. Personally, I think it looks a LOT better than Glee, but then again Glee is marketed more to the younger audiences. What do you guys think? Will you tune in to Smash when it airs on NBC as a mid-season starter? |
