| ‘Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes’ – First Trailer Debuts (Video) Posted: 14 Apr 2011 04:38 AM PDT I can’t believe how excited I am over a James Franco movie! Rise of the Planet of the Apes is poised to hit theaters August 5th, and judging by the trailer it looks magnificent. Andy Serkis (Gollum-Lord of the Rings) plays Caesar, a chimp who has been genetically enhanced and becomes self aware and hyper-intelligent.
All I can say here is WOW. Just wow. Cannot wait until August 5th guys… |
| Taylor Lautner’s ‘Abduction’ First Trailer (Video) Posted: 14 Apr 2011 04:00 AM PDT Taylor Lautner‘s first starring role after the Twilight films is Abduction, about a young man who discovers that his face is on a missing person’s database and goes on a mission to discover who he really is. Add in a bunch of assassins trying to take him out, Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs and Maria Bello, and you have yourself the makings of a decent looking action film… or do you?  The movie also stars Lautner’s real life lady love Lily Collins, as well as veteran actor Alfred Molina. Directed by John Singleton (Shaft, Boyz n the Hood), it’ll hit theaters September 23rd. What do you think guys? Does it look good? |
| Prince Talks Music and Life with George Lopez (Video) Posted: 13 Apr 2011 11:08 PM PDT Prince was on television last night, something the singer simply doesn’t do very often. Prince recently revealed his first set of concert dates for his Los Angeles residency-style Welcome 2 America tour, which he's calling his "21-Night Stand".  He chose “Lopez Tonight” to kick off the tour. “The first time I was on the ALMA Awards, you showed me love there and I really appreciated it, and also I find that this show represents all people and I see all kinds of guests on here and you’re kind to all of them.” George showed his gratitude, by not using profanity. In case you think it will break the bank to go see this pop royalty rock the stage, at least 85% of tickets will be made available only for $25. I love him even more than I already did. |

Yesterday, Bieber took to his Twitter page to announce that he is staging a temporary separation with Twitter.  “I’m just excited at this pt to get on stage and perform. gonna take a little break from twitter and enjoy this time with my family until then,” he tweeted. Bieber has since posted a few more residual tweets — so all hope is not lost. I really don’t blame Bieber, for getting upset with the paps — there are lines that shouldn’t be crossed. |

| Miley Cyrus Performs With Joan Jett On Oprah! (Video) Posted: 13 Apr 2011 04:43 PM PDT Oprah Winfrey is pulling out all the stops on the final season of her talk show. On her show today the queen of talk played host to goddesses of the music industry, and their contemporary counterparts. Joan Jett, Pat Benetar, Stevie Nicks, and Salt N’ Pepa, were among the lovely ladies to hit the stage.
The biggest surprise for me, was the pairing of legendary rocker Joan Jett, and former Hannah Montana actress/singer Miley Cyrus. Holy crap! Miley totally held her own singing next to one of rock and roll’s most innovative and bad ass rock chicks! I think Miley should give herself over to hard rock from now on… it totally suits her! Check out the video of their performance together! Awesome right? Sharp contrast to Avril Lavigne‘s performance alongside the ever young, ever talented Pat Benetar. Avril, with her green highlights looks so uncomfortable and scared sh!tless next to Pat as they duet on Love is a Battlefield. Watch and laugh along with me! Did anyone else notice that Avril’s timing was off a couple of times? LOL! Btw, Oprah kicks arse! This season of her show is awesome! What did YOU think of Miley, and Avril’s performances? Video surfaced that appeared to show Bryant using the slur when he couldn’t get Bennie Adams‘ attention. “Kobe Bryant’s comment during last night’s game was offensive and inexcusable,” NBA commissioner David Stern said in a release. “While I’m fully aware that basketball is an emotional game, such a distasteful term should never be tolerated. Accordingly, I have fined Kobe $100,000. Kobe and everyone associated with the NBA know that insensitive or derogatory comments are not acceptable and have no place in our game or society.” Bryant punched his chair before taking a seat on the bench and threw a towel on the court near his feet in frustration after picking up his fourth foul in the third quarter. He got his 15th technical of the season for arguing the call. “What I said last night should not be taken literally. My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period,” Bryant said in a statement. “The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone.” I bet you his teammates are just SO SICK of him! |
| Catherine Zeta-Jones Treated At Mental Hospital Posted: 13 Apr 2011 11:49 AM PDT Catherine Zeta-Jones sought treatment for mental illness at a Connecticut hospital earlier this month, a rep for the actress have confirmed to PEOPLE. “After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II Disorder,” the rep said in a statement. “She's feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films.”  According to ICYDK, that facility she chose was Silver Hill Hospital near New Canaan, Connecticut. The star reportedly checked in on April 6 and stayed a total of five days. “There’s no question it’s been a stressful year,” a friend reportedly told PEOPLE. “Catherine has had deal with Michael’s illness and that’s been hard. She went in for a few days because she’s about to start working, and wanted to make sure she’s in top form, which she is.” Zeta-Jones' husband, Michael Douglas, was diagnosed with cancer of the tongue last year. The 66-year-old actor underwent six months of chemotherapy and radiation before declaring himself cancer free in January. |
| A Sneak Peek Inside Kate Middleton’s Childhood Home Posted: 13 Apr 2011 11:14 AM PDT Today Show viewers got a sneak peek into Kate Middleton's past this morning, as NBC's Michelle Kosinski took them inside the future princess' childhood home. The semi-detached Victorian, known as West View, is up for auction in June.  The asking price is 550,000 pounds, or roughly $888,000. Estate agents say this is three times what it was worth when Middleton lived there in her youth. The home, which is modest by American standards, is located in Bradford Southend in Berkshire. Its brick facade is enlivened by a shiny red door, but other than that it looks a stock example of other homes in the area. Kosinski viewed the property with Estate Agent Dudley Singleton. Interestingly enough, the family which currently occupies the residence were at home during the walk through. While Kozinski and Singleton made references to Middleton's "humble" upbringing and her "rags to riches story" during the tour, I'm more inclined to agree with the kid who they interrupted playing in the back yard. "It's like a normal house," he said, in a very I-don't-know-what-the-fuss-is-all-about kind of way. The young girl playing in the upstairs room which was Middleton's nursery as a baby seemed equally non-plussed. When Kozinski slipped a tiara on the child's head and asked her about fairy tale magic, she just kind of shrugged it off, saying that all her friends like to come over now. The soon-to-be-royal's former bedroom (which she presumably occupied once she was out of the nursery until her family sold the home when she was 13) was actually the master. One has to wonder if she had the space all to herself, of if she shared with sister Phillipa. The part of the property which tells the most about Middleton's history isn't the house, though, but rather the garden shed where her entrepreneur father started his Party Pieces business. When the business took off, they sold the West View house and moved on to bigger and better things. (Although they've stayed in the same neighborhood.) Kate, of course, went on to win the heart – and hand – of England's future king. Interestingly enough, even though the house has been featured on Royal Wedding websites the world over, the owners have yet to get any serious "bites" on the property. The only interest they've gotten, it seems, is from the media. Oopsie. I hope for there sake it fairs better when it goes up for auction in two months time. By then, Kate Middleton and Prince William will be officially wed. (If you don't already have it on your calendar, the royal wedding will take place on April 29.) Maybe that will help attract more interest from buyers. |

“I’ve envisioned the whole thing,” the reality show star told Life & Style. “I can’t wait to get married. I’ve found my wedding dress — I mean, I already know what my gown is going to look like. I’ve thought about it all for so long. What woman hasn’t thought about her wedding since she was a little girl?” According to one of her gal pals, Kardashian has her heart set on a Chanel couture gown, which she’s more than willing to fly to Paris for. “She wants a white strapless floor-length gown that’s traditional but sexy and makes her feel like a princess,” her friend says. As for a rock suitable to adorn her ring finger, Kardashian knows exactly what she wants in that department too. “I want Lorraine to design me a big diamond ring,” she was overheard telling pal Brittny Gastineau at Beverly Hills Nail Design on Sunday. The Lorraine in question is jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz. What does Kardashian have in mind? Oh, just a little trinket inspired by Elizabeth Taylor's famed cushion-cut Krupp diamond. "Kim's been talking to Lorraine about it a lot," a friend told Life & Style. Kardashian and her future fiance (at least if she has her way) are both from families where all the kids' names begin with "K." She wants to continue this unfortunate practice when she and Humphries spawn. “I think I’ll name my kids with K’s to keep the tradition going,” she said. According to the friend, she's already picked a name for their first born son. What is it? Kristopher Jr., of course, in honor of the man she's fallen head over heels for. And she doesn't want to stop at just one. “I want a big family,” Kardashian said. “Three to five kids!” Lord help us. |
| ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Week 4 Elimination Results (Video) Posted: 13 Apr 2011 08:16 AM PDT Week four came to a close with former ‘Girl Next Door‘ Kendra Wilkinson and her professional partner Louis Van Amstel scoring the lowest of all the contestants with a measly 18 points. So it’s a given that they were the ones eliminated from last night show, right? WRONG.
Apparently, viewer votes carry a lot more weight than the judges scores, otherwise Kendra would have found herself ousted from the competition! But rather, ‘the heart of the show this season’ Sugar Ray Leonard went home instead! Really people? It’s like American Idol all over again! What I don’t get is why Kirstie Alley is still there! She falls on her arse, and loses her shoe, and STILL gets the votes? There is something wrong with the voters, really… |

The "Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Weddings" star told PEOPLE all about it in a recent interview. “I found out on Valentine’s Day,” the 37-year-old actress said. “It was perfect timing.” She delivered the good news to her hubby as his V-Day gift. "I wrapped up the pregnancy test in a box and bow and gave it to Dean as his Valentine’s Day gift,” she explained. “He was beyond surprised. Best gift ever!” I'm sure he loved getting something his wife had peed on. But, I guess it's the thought that counts. The couple have two children together, 4-year-old son Liam and daughter Stella, who is 2 1/2. (McDermott also has a 12-year-old son from a previous relationship.) According to Spelling, their son guessed the news before they told him. “Liam kept saying, ‘Your belly is getting huge. That means there’s a baby in there,’ ” she said. This pregnancy has been a little rougher than her previous two. “I have been nauseous for the past three months straight,” she said. “Thankfully it is starting to get better now.” While Spelling has been forthcoming about her pregnancy, there is one little tidbit of info the couple won't be sharing – via Twitter or otherwise: the sex of baby number 3. “We’ve been blessed with a boy and a girl already, so this time we’ve decided to do it the traditional way and not find out the sex,” Spelling told PEOPLE. |

In a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the 25-year-old “Born This Way” singer says she’ll never succumb to the pressure to get cosmetic surgery.  Speaking with the mag she says, "I have never had plastic surgery, and there are many pop singers who have. I think that promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification." "I am an artist, and I have the ability and the free will to choose the way the world will envision me." She says that once she had become a household name—after winning Grammys, after wrestling with Madonna on Saturday Night Live, after countless magazine covers—she felt pressured to move to the pop-culture mecca that is Los Angeles. "I had all these number-one records, and I had sold all these albums, and it was sort of this turning point: Am I going to try and embrace Hollywood and assimilate to that culture?" Suffice to say, it didn't work out. "I put my toe in that water, and it was a Kegel-exercise vaginal reaction where I clenched and had to retract immediately," she says in a very vivid metaphor. Producer Hit-Boy recently tweeted about the “smash” the unlikely duo had just finished recording and posted a photo of the three music men in the studio.  Teaming up with Disney’s golden boy Joe Jonas, is probably a good move for Brown. Apparently the relationship is mutually beneficial. The newly solo Jonas has been soliciting Brown’s help in creating a more mature sound for his career sans brothers. Jonas told Details magazine, “I wanted to do something you could hear in a club or something you could dance to, something that’s fun.” |
