| Carrie Fisher Talks John Travolta, ‘It’s OK To Be Gay’ Posted: 10 Dec 2010 07:27 PM PST Hours before his wife Kelly Preston gave birth to their son Benjamin, John Travolta's team sent a five-page legal notice to Gawker, demanding it remove a post purporting to reveal the actor's so-called "secret sex life" with other men in Los Angeles spas. [see letter here] Last year Carrie Fisher told Out Magazine that “we don’t care if John Travolta is gay.”  The Advocate decided to brush up on that subject with Carrie again and asked her what she thinks about John Travolta’s team of lawyers going after Gawker for publishing a story about his gay spa sex ways.  In the September 2009 issue of Out, you participated in its monthly Can I Be Blunt? column by sharing 10 things that gay men should know about straight women. One of those things was, "We don't really care that John Travolta is gay." I know you and Travolta go way back, so let's get really blunt here: Does his legal team have any business demanding Gawker remove a recent post suggesting that he's given blow jobs? To which Fisher replied, “Wow! I mean, my feeling about John has always been that we know and we don't care.” She continued, “Look, I'm sorry that he's uncomfortable with it, and that's all I can say. It only draws more attention to it when you make that kind of legal fuss. Just leave it be.” Wow. Did she just call him out? |
| Marvel’s ‘Thor’ – Official Trailer Released! Posted: 10 Dec 2010 05:22 PM PST Holy crap! I just pee’d myself a little bit… I just watched the brand spanking new trailer for the upcoming Marvel Universe film Thor which was released about an hour ago! Dude is uber hot! Damn! Check it out!
Sexy Chris Hemsworth stars as Viking-Superhero Thor, who gets thrown out of Asgard for starting a war and pissing off his father Odin, played by Anthony Hopkins. He is cast out and sent to Earth where he is found by Natalie Portman‘s character Jane (how original). Expect lusty-ness between the two characters. Directed by well-known actor/director Kenneth Branaugh, which I find highly surprising as most of his directing gigs tend to be more on the bland side rather than action pact. The film hits theaters in wide release and 3D (ugh) on May 6th 2011. I can’t wait! [Click on thumbnails to get a larger view!]

| Billy Ray Cyrus Is Sad Over Miley’s Bong Hit Posted: 10 Dec 2010 04:14 PM PST Billy Ray Cyrus is upset over the video of Miley taking hits from a bong full of Salvia that was leaked last night. He is in the middle of a divorce, so it’s reasonable to assume that he had no idea what his daughter was up to.
 As of November 23rd, Miley turned 18-years-old and is no longer under the control of her parents. It’s not really as if he could’ve (or would’ve) said anything about what she chooses to do anyways. He’s been so far out of control of his children that it’s unreal. But since we know that he’s struggling personally and she’s an adult now, we really can’t take this one out on him. Still, he’s sad about the whole thing. Billy Ray took to his Twitter to say, “Sorry guys. I had no idea. Just saw this stuff for the first time myself. Im so sad. There is much beyond my control right now.” Of course it’s out of his control, she’s not a minor. | Drew Carey Tweets Healthy Message Posted: 10 Dec 2010 03:37 PM PST Earlier today, we got an anonymous tip that Drew Carey was suffering from pancreatic cancer that had spread to his liver. He was said to be getting treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Drew was apparently alerted to our well wishing and tweeted the below message to his 534,000+ followers.  We are happy that Drew is just fine and our super secret “sauce” as he says, was wrong. Hey, Drew, if you’re reading (you know you are), let’s have lunch at Swingers in L.A. sometime, just you and I. On you, of course. Just kidding, we’ll have Allie buy. (Ha!) We’re elated to report that Drew is not suffering from cancer. We’re even more jazzed that he mentioned us on Twitter. Take care Drew!! |
| Posted: 10 Dec 2010 12:27 PM PST Now that 2010 is coming to a close, we were wondering who was at the top of the list for the best song of 2010. It remains an opinion, as mine would be different than what the Nielsen SoundScan reports, but according to MTV, Usher’s song, “OMG” has beaten everything else to the top of the list!  Crazy. I would’ve said Rihanna and Eminem’s song “Love The Way You Lie” as my top pick for the year. That song, in my humble opinion, had the best hook and was super catchy. Deadline reports that 20th Century Fox picked up the rights, and a big-screen adaptation will be released with Taylor Lautner heading up the cast as Finn! According to Wikipedia: “Finn, a young prisoner born from Incarceron – a brutal prison sealed from the world – is a starseer, a person fated to escape from the dictatorial prison. After bargaining for a crystal key, an object that shares the image of the eagle on his wrist, he sets out with his companions to overcome Incarceron and break out. This includes journeying with an old Sapient bent on escape, an arrogant oathbrother who seeks power, and a dog-slave girl in disguise. Claudia, daughter to the Warden of Incarceron, is trapped in the Realm – a world constructed to look like a past era. She is confined, like everyone, to live in a timeless earth where advance science and technology has been prohibited. She knows nothing of Incarceron, except that it exists, but when she breaks into her father's study and steals a crystal key, everything changes. Their lives, once twisted in the past, are to inevitable collide again.” I’ve read up on the novels, and even though they are meant for a young-adult audience, I am quite intrigued. | Naomi Campbell Blasts Fashion Industry For Lack Of Black Models Posted: 10 Dec 2010 10:14 AM PST Naomi Campbell is lashing out at the fashion industry for their failure to routinely use African American models in campaigns and photo shoots. She has acknowledged that things have improved since she started modeling, but black models are still not getting the respect they deserve on the catwalk. She says that black models are not being used as much as they should be and wants that to change.  In a new interview, she said, “We’re all aware that we need to introduce more women of color. But what I’ve seen recently is that I’ve seen it go backwards slightly. We need to raise awareness again and need to start using women of color more.” Talk isn’t cheap for her, either. Naomi is taking the initiative herself and is helping raise awareness herself in order to help young models. She said, “It’s not for myself, but the younger girls who come up to me and say, ‘We didn’t get used this season, we didn’t do this, someone used 81 models and didn’t use one of us.’ In that respect if they come up and talk to me, and I’m able to speak on their behalf, then I will.” Finally, Naomi is using her celebrity to benefit someone other than herself. | Bea Arthur Was A Marine? – Photo Posted: 10 Dec 2010 09:01 AM PST Bea Arthur was in the Marines? Who knew?!? According to “The Smoking Gun” Bea Arthur was then known by her given name Bernice Frankel and spent thirty months in the Marines.
 She has denied any enlistment time, but “The Smoking Gun” has uncovered her military records from the time she enlisted in the Women’s Reserve back in 1943. She was a truck driver and a typist in the armed forces. “The Smoking Gun” reports:
A source said that she was slated to start a new job, but “heard last week that enlistments for women in the Marines were open, so decided the only thing to do was join.” According to her personnel file, She was “willing to get in now and do whatever is desired of me until such time as ground schools are organized.” She added, “As far as hobbies are concerned, I’ve dabbled in music and dramatics.” In the below video, you can see how she denies any stint in the Marines: Yes, back before she was known as Dorothy Zbornak, she was a gun-toting Marine truck driver.
