| Nicki Minaj’s ‘Super Bass’ Is Huge Success (Video) Posted: 10 Aug 2011 11:22 PM PDT Nicki Minaj's most recent single, 'Super Bass' is a major hit and it is only getting more popular. The song has become the biggest single from a female rapper in nearly a decade. It is the highest-charting Hot 100 rap song by a solo female since Missy Elliott's 'Work It' reached the No. 2 spot in 2002. 'Super Bass' is also only the eighth rap single by a solo female to reach the top 10 in the Hot 100's 53-year history.
In an interview Cash Money co-founder Ronald “Slim” Williams revealed, “Nicki isn’t like any other female rapper. We knew she had the goods when Lil Wayne signed her. She’s not a female rapper; she’s a pop star who happens to rap.” CBS Radio VP/Programming Michael Martin says, “‘Super Bass’ is a fun up-tempo summer song. She has pop sensibility and presents herself as a mass appeal artist. The video is vibrant, colorful and inviting." The fact that 'Super Bass' is a success is pretty astounding due to the fact that the song was really just a bonus track on Minaj's debut album 'Pink Friday.' The single has sold 1.91 million downloads in 2011, making it the year’s 21st-biggest overall seller. The song is everywhere! Even my 12-year-old sister knows the whole rap portion of the song! Was Lindsay Lohan really buying drugs outside a bar in Venice Beach? According to X17, Lindsay was outside of Hal's Bar & Grill on Tuesday when a man came up to her, then he handed a bag of powdery white substance to a friend sitting next to her. Lindsay then takes a Ziploc baggie from a different guy and gives him cash. Many assumed she bought drugs. Lindsay's publicist has denied the allegations, “The bag contained crystals that had been purchased for Lindsay at a local shop.” He claims the baggie consisted of "sea jasper, a meteor, rose quartz and quartz," purchased by a friend of hers from a store down the street. Cause, everyone sends a friend to buy their crystals for them. Is anyone really buying any of this crap? |

Unfortunately, among them are some of Black’s schoolmates. Their taunting has finally resulted in Black being pulled from school.  Black’s mother has decided to home school the 14-year-old from now on, a decision which also allows more time to focus on her daughter’s career. Laughable, right? In an interview set to air tonight on ABC, Black opens up about the real-life, non-Internet-based criticism she receives. “When I walk by, they’ll start singing ‘Friday’ in a really nasally voice. Or, you know, they’ll be like, ‘Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?’” She created the most annoying song ever, what did she expect? |

George Lopez‘s late night talk show “Lopez Tonight” was canceled by TBS. “TBS has reached the difficult decision not to order a third season of ‘Lopez Tonight,’” TBS said in a statement. “Thursday will be the final episode of the show. We are proud to have partnered with George Lopez, who is an immensely talented comedian and entertainer,” the network’s statement continued. “TBS has valued its partnership with George and appreciates all of his work on behalf of the network, both on and off the air.” It was not clear when Lopez, himself, learned the news. According to the New York Times, TBS had been discussing cutting Lopez’s show for months, as ratings began to dive. |

She represented Lindsay’s 6126 fashion line in its Spring/Summer 2011 campaign. Ali has said before, Lindsay is her idol and she wants to be just like her. “I grew up watching Lindsay and it made me want to do what she does. Just the whole vibe. Being there, being on camera, or onstage, with everybody listening to you … it's so cool when people look up to you.
