| American Idol: Harry Connick Jr. and Lady Gaga Walk Into a Bar… Posted: 06 May 2010 05:04 AM PDT The results night seemed to be a bit odd. Harry Connick Jr. and Lady Gaga in practically back to back performances sounds more like the start of a joke. Perhaps it is a juxtaposition representing to icons and their appeal and influence on music. Meh, I doubt it's that deep.
After Crystal Bowersox had a second performance that fell flat, bit the American Idol hand and Lee Dewyze proved his a force to be reckoned with, we have the results. It was Frank Sinatra week with the lovable Harry Connick Jr. guiding the contestants. They each struggled with the genre sans for Lee and Big Mike. My pick for bottom two yesterday was Aaron Kelly and Casey James. And if yesterday's performances weren't awkward enough, the hopefuls are doing a group number to kick off the show.
First Mr.Dewyze goes center stage to learn that he is the better version of Danny Gokey and is safe. Enter Lady Gaga. The eccentric singer performs a "Bad Romance" intro and "Alejandro." Instantly I am entertaining memories of my trip to Cabo two years ago. Although the men running around in black diapers and Spanx is ruining it for me. Harry follows with a performance of "And I Love Her," which is in complete contrast to Gaga's show. It's like a weird version of ebony and ivory. Again the Top 5 American Idol hopefuls sing. This time they have put together a tribute medley. Finally we get to the results. Crystal Bowersox and Casey James are put into one group. I bet Casey is sighing with relief. However, Michael Lynche and Aaron Kelly form another group with begs the question how Big Mike is up for elimination?!? Luckily, Aaron is sent packing. Let this be a lesson that we can't assume someone will be safe. Don't forget to vote y'all! |

| Justin Bieber Corrects German Goof - Video Posted: 05 May 2010 08:17 PM PDT Justin Bieber went on a television show recently in New Zealand and didn’t correctly understand the host’s accent when he said the word “German”. So, to prove that he knows what German is, he counted to ten in the language.  Some people were poking fun at the Biebster, saying that he didn’t know what German is. To prove them wrong, he tweeted this, “because I thought this interviewer in NZ said “Jewman” instead of “German” people think I dont know what German is?” along with this video: So take that, you non-Beliebers! | Lady Gaga Performs ‘Alejandro’ On ‘American Idol’ Tonight Posted: 05 May 2010 08:16 PM PDT On tonight’s episode of “American Idol”, Lady Gaga took to the stage wearing fishnet all over her body, including her face, and performed her upcoming hit single, “Alejandro”.  Earlier today, she tweeted, “I’m performing ALEJANDRO tonight on #AmericanIdol! Tune in little monsters, Paws up! I dedicate this performance to u, u make me strong. | ‘Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ Gets Release Date! Posted: 05 May 2010 12:26 PM PDT “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” has just been given a release date. Twi-hards are rejoicing in the streets! Or that could be because it’s Cinco De Mayo.  The fourth film in the franchise will be in theaters on November 11, 2011! The third movie, "Eclipse", is coming out on June 30th, so I have to wonder if they're going to keep the Robert Pattinson/Kristen Stewart romance alive until then? Reportedly, Bill Condon is set to direct “Breaking Dawn”. It’s still unknown as to whether or not the last project will be broken down into two separate movies, though.

| Lindsay Lohan, The Gun Packing Nun - Machete Trailer Posted: 05 May 2010 11:41 AM PDT Robert Rodriguez has released a special Cinco de Mayo trailer for his movie Machete. Robert talked Fox into letting him put together the trailer, as a special message to Arizona and their new immigration law. Rodriguez is calling this his “Illegal” trailer.  The highly skilled Federale Machete is hired by some unsavory types to assassinate a senator. But just as he’s about to take the shot, he notices someone aiming at him and realizes he’s been set up. He barely survives the sniper’s bullet, and is soon out for revenge on his former employers, with the reluctant assistance of his old friend, who has become a priest and taken a vow of nonviolence. Now on the run from the law and being tracked down by Sartana (Jessica Alba), a persistant U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent with a special interest in the blade slinger. Machete goes after Benz and his men, as well as Senator McLaughlin, with the help of his only three allies; his “holy” Federale-turned-priest brother Padre (Cheech Marin); a saucy meat cleaver-wielding taco slinger named Luz (Michelle Rodriguez); and Benz socialite daughter April (Lindsay Lohan), whom Machete kidnaps, then ultimately develops a fascination for April’s penchant for guns. | Kim Kardashian Got Plastic Surgery? Posted: 05 May 2010 11:38 AM PDT Just last month, I was feeling sorry for Kim Kardashian due to the pain she suffered at the hands of her ex-husband, Damon Thomas. Now, he’s striking back!  In a new press release, he said, “She can’t write or sing or dance, so she does harmful things in order to validate herself in the media. That’s a famewhore to me. It’s just not cool at all.” Well, that’s not really the surprising part, is it? We all knew that she would pimp out her mother for press, if she had to. In a new interview, Damon comes out of the woodwork to say that Kim lied about the abuse and that she is a plastic surgery junkie. Color me intrigued. He said, “Kim is obsessed with fame. She’s jealous and competitive with her sisters. She can’t write or sing or dance, so she does harmful things in order to validate herself in the media. That’s a fame-whore to me. It’s just not cool at all.”
He went on to deny the abuse claims, saying, “It’s just absolutely not true”. He added that she never filed for a restraining order during their marriage and only alleged the abuse to get a lot of money out of him. He claims that he filed for divorce first and it was because she was cheating on him with “multiple guys”. She lured him back into the marriage, at which time she convinced him to pay for expensive shopping sprees and a ton of plastic surgery. He said, “She wanted to have that lifestyle. She wanted to be what she ultimately became.” Damon finally broke down after seeing her on the cover of a magazine, posing with Cris Judd, wearing the clothes that he bought for her. He added, “I saw my wife with another man, wearing the clothes that we had just bought after her lipo. It was not something as a husband you ever wanted to see.” I imagine somewhere in the middle lies some grain of truth. She’s obviously into altering her face and body, but I still think this guy’s a douche. | American Idol: Frank Sinatra Night Posted: 05 May 2010 07:11 AM PDT The night started with an offering by the two daughters of Frank Sinatra. The ladies, who reminded me of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, gave Simon a monogrammed hanky. I found it odd because I doubt that Cowell has ever shed a tear and probably has a sneeze handler on call to wipe any stray boogies. Moving along…Aaron Kelly will be going home. We should just pack it up now and save ourselves some time. Despite having Harry Connick Jr. mentoring and playing the piano, Aaron failed to step outside the karaoke corniness. Simon summed it up by saying: "If Frank was a lion, you were the mouse."
Strike that. Casey James will be going home. Aaron may have savior in Casey's disaster.
Casey tackled "Blue Skies" and it was unfortunate. He was out of his element and it was painfully obvious as he moved awkwardly around the stage while struggling with pitch. Aaron and Casey will be battling it out in the bottom tomorrow. Casey's good looks might save him, but Aaron's adorable puppy persona might be the pull he needs. On a totally non-related note….Ryan looks like a 12 year old boy standing next to Casey. Enter Crystal Bowersox. Oh honey, this wasn't her best performance but better than last week. She looked gorgeous in a black lacy gown, but clearly this was outside of her persona. Liked it, didn't love it.
I was so looking forward to Big Mike's performance. This is his playground. He delivered on the iconic tune, "The Way You Look Tonight." Judges loved it and so did the audience who Randy had to fight to get his comments in. Randy proclaimed him the winner. Smooth. That is what everyone else seemed to miss in the Sinatra tunes.
Lee Dewyze took the stage last. I don't envy him following Big Mike. He even took on "That's Life." Pleasantly surprised, he gave what the judges deemed the best performance of the night. I agree!
