Miley Cyrus Quitting Music For Film Posted: 23 Mar 2010 09:42 PM PDT Miley Cyrus may have announced she can’t wait to ditch “Hannah Montana,” but it’s only to focus on her big screen career. Cyrus was a guest on Monday’s episode of “The View,” where she discussed her new film, The Last Song, and about her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. “I have a record coming out in June and that’s going to be the last thing I do in music for a while. I just want to do films ’cause I like being someone else. My music is kind of like my diary. I’ll always do that … I just feel like the music industry isn’t as positive as I’d like it to be.” But the 17-year-old singer also noted that she wasn’t entirely happy in her music career. “I just feel like the music industry isn’t as positive as I’d like it to be,” Cyrus said. And when speaking of her co-star, she says, “Well, I like him very much … I love him. He is a great person. He’s someone I’m holding onto because we very much connect and were both very ambitious and have some of the same goals. My mom loves him and thinks he’s wonderful.” Cyrus’ last full-length album, 2008’s Breakout, sold over one million copies and scored hits with “7 Things” and “Fly on the Wall.” The 2009 EP The Time of Our Lives scored Cyrus an even more monstrous hit with “Party in the U.S.A.” Clearly if Cyrus decides that her forthcoming album (which will feature her cover of “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”) is her last, it would mean that the star would exit at an absolute peak. source: Miley Cyrus Says Goodbye To The Music Industry [mtv news]

The “Twilight” hunk has reportedly traded in his fangs for a trident, signing on to star in new movie “The War Of The Gods” opposite Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke, and Freida Pinto, about an epic battle with the immortal Greek Gods centering on a clash between men, Gods and Titans in ancient Greece. In the Greek mythology flick, Kellan — who will next be seen in the “Nightmare on Elm Street” revival and then, of course, “Eclipse” — will take on the role of Poseidon, the Greek god that rules over the seas.
