American Idol: Elimination Station Posted: 05 Mar 2010 05:02 AM PST Four contestants sang their last song on American Idol. Haeley Vaughn, Michelle Delamor, Jermaine Sellers and John Park were all cut last night after 27 million voters banished them. We have 16 contestants left to pick apart until the next round of eliminations.
In a poll conducted by the NY Daily News, 64% voted Crystal Bowersox their favorite performer so far. Siobhan Mangnus is in second with 17%. Does this give in indication to the future Idol? Possibly. Crystal has been a favorite but picked up momentum after being hospitalized for her diabetes and following her health scare with a stellar performance. No one seemed really sad to see Haeley, who sang Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" go. Park's sleepy rendition of "Gravity" didn't do much and as he was kicked off I thought: "Who was that guy again?" Jermaine was a bit of a surprise. He truly is memorable but I think his downfall was that he was memorable for the wrong reasons. I had pegged Tim Urban as the one to go over Sellers. Regardless, I am pretty sure America got it right. Michelle seemed more interested in her clothes and style so I hope she finds an internship at Vera Wang to better suit her. |
Roseanne Barr Attacks Marie Osmond’s Church Posted: 05 Mar 2010 01:48 AM PST Roseanne Barr decided to cross that proverbial line, and blame Marie Osmond’s sons death on her church. It hasn’t been that long since Marie’s son committed suicide, and while we still don’t know why, it seems like it’s still an open wound. What I do agree with, however, is the fact that all people deserve to be treated equally and fairly, whether they’re gay or not. I’m not familiar with the Mormon religion, but I have heard rumors that they are hard on homosexuals in general. I don’t know this for a fact, but it only serves Roseanne’s point. And I love Roseanne to death, she always speaks her mind. Read what she said on her official blog:

Kirsten Dunst Covers ‘V’ Magazine - Photos Posted: 05 Mar 2010 01:15 AM PST We haven’t really heard much from Kirsten Dunst lately. I’m not sure what she’s been up to except for random stuff like doing magazine photo shoots and appearing in revamped music videos. Besides not being asked to play Mary Jane Watson in the new revision of the “Spiderman” movies, Kirsten has been busy posing in her old Hollywood glamour and prancing around with blue hair for this video: She’s not completely lost for work, however. She said of her upcoming role in “All Good Things”, “I know I’ll be seen in a very different light. This role is the most I can show of myself and I think it’s the best work I’ve done ever, for sure.” I like Kirsten, but I think I’m being scarred for life with those eyebrows. Sheesh, someone tame that mess, you’re not Greta Garbo. |

Jason Castro Reveals Debut Album Details Posted: 04 Mar 2010 01:37 PM PST Former “American Idol” contestant Jason Castro has just unveiled new details about his debut album, new single, and upcoming performance on ABC’s special for The Bachelor wedding! His debut album, titled “Jason Castro” is set to arrive in stores and online on April 13th. The first single from the album is titled, “That’s What I’m Here For” and is slated to hit the radio on March 8th. That same day, he will also release an exclusive rendition of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”, which is one of the songs that helped him earn third place on “American Idol” in 2008. Jason is also gearing up to perform both songs on ABC’s upcoming special, “The Bachelor: Jason & Molly’s Wedding”, also on March 8th. Of his album, Jason says, “I feel like the album really captures my personality. People got to know me a bit on the show, so I wanted to build on that by including all these songs I've written about my life. I wanted to share with people the things that are meaningful to me." |
Posted: 04 Mar 2010 11:26 AM PST First Jessica Simpson laughed-off the remarks John Mayer made about her in Playboy, then she went on Oprah and later refused his apology. Allie tried to get to the bottom of the fiasco, by sitting down and talking with Jessica’s brain. |
Johnny Depp Wants to Quit Filming ‘The Tourist’ Posted: 04 Mar 2010 10:25 AM PST Like we didn’t see this one coming! Johnny Depp’s longtime gal pal has no intention of joining the trail of brokenhearted Hollywood ladies left crying to Oprah Winfrey after Angelina Jolie stole their men. So when Vanessa Paradis found out her “Pirates of the Caribbean” stud and Jolie were to shoot a passionate love scene in their new movie “The Tourist,” she ordered Depp to find another gig. But by all appearances, Depp has not been able to cut himself out of the shoot. Filming started last month and Depp and Jolie were spied sharing a laugh on set at the Palazzo Pisani Moretta in Venice on Tuesday. In the flick, Jolie plays an Interpol agent who seduces a tourist, played by Depp, in order to flush out a criminal she had a fling with in the past. Paradis “found out that there was a real long and intense love scene between [Depp] and Jolie,” a source close to the project said.
Paradis, Depp’s partner of 12 years with whom she has two kids, doesn’t have to look deep into Jolie’s past to find reasons to worry. Honestly, if I was her…and not to be mean, but I’d worry too. In the movie, Johnny Depp plays an American tourist visiting Italy to mend a broken heart. Angelina Jolie plays Elise, an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses his path and they screw. The screw part is what Paradis doesn’t like. source: Johnny Depp’s longtime girlfriend tells him to quit Angelina Jolie film [ny post] |
Kristen Stewart & Dakota Fanning Sing ‘Cherry Bomb’ Posted: 04 Mar 2010 10:03 AM PST Kristen Stewart was a lot more nervous about performing the songs in her new movie The Runaways than locking lips with her costar Dakota Fanning. The girls learned to perform the band’s signature songs, with some performances ending up on the film’s soundtrack. Stewart and Fanning’s rendition of the girl group’s hit song ‘Cherry Bomb‘ has now been released via the movie’s website and you can hear it here. Here’s some of the new movie stills and promotional pictures from the Facebook website. I’m really looking forward to seeing this movie. Posted: 04 Mar 2010 09:16 AM PST Mo’Nique was turning heads her her performance in the film “Precious” and created a moment for herself at the Golden Globes. She gave one of the best acceptance speeches of the night. Too bad that was all overshadowed by her legs.
As she walked the red carpet of the awards, she lifted her dress a bit to avoid tripping. Photogs snapped away at her unshaven legs and of course, gossip ensued. In effort to combat the tabloids mocking her legs, she talked about her adherence to shaving openly.
Mo’Nique also talked about her odd attitude toward her marriage.
Wow. I can’t say that I’d be as open to my future husband (Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds or Hugh Jackman) going to all Tiger Woods sex maniac. [PopEater] |
American Idol: Crystal Bowersox Drama Posted: 04 Mar 2010 07:30 AM PST American Idol is floundering this year as Simon Cowell makes this his last year. Maybe it's the impending gloom of an American idol without Simon and the absence of Paula Abdul slurring a speech about stage presence that makes me feel half-hearted about this season.
One stand out artist that is plowing ahead of the rest is Crystal Bowersox. The ladies preformed last night and most worried that Crystal would not be one of them. The AI hopeful was hospitalized after complications from her diabetes took its toll.
Lucky for her, Idol producers switched nights the girls were due to perform in order to give her a chance. This is a clear sign as to how far this girl is going to go. It makes me scratch my head in concern that had this been one of the struggling males that seem to be in abundance this year or one the non-favorites…would the same measures have been taken? Another female front-runner is Katelyn Epperly. She covered "The Scientist" and received positive reviews with one agreed complaint of the song being too slow. Of course Simon called her corny but mentioned he felt it was far better than last week.
By Simon's standards, Lee Dewyze is the "one to beat" this season. He is pretty much the only male contender that will have a chance a dethroning some of the ladies. Lee sang "Lips of an Angel" by Hinder.
I want to like the guy, but I wasn't peeing my pants over this performance but the judges were aside from pitch problems. |
