| Wired Exclusive: Virgin Mobile’s 2011 FreeFest (Photos) Posted: 13 Sep 2011 12:02 AM PDT Virgin Mobile‘s FreeFest was this past weekend and Allie is Wired was thrilled to be invited! The festival took place at the Merriweather Post Pavilion located in Columbia, Maryland and was attended by over 50,000 fans! 
It was so wonderful to be reunited with everyone! The lineup that consisted of: Akron, The Black Keys, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Canadian DJ Deadmau5, '70s punk icon Patti Smith, Australian electronic act Cut Copy, the joyfully profane Cee Lo Green, Brooklyn band TV on the Radio and Eclectic Method (among others). Richard Branson joined us in VIP, graciously greeting fans (I got a kiss on the cheek) and posing for photos. The mogul remained in the area for hours, enjoying the festivities with his friends and family.  Richard did leave the area long enough to donate his time at the Karma Bar (love the name), selling drinks with Cee-Lo Green. A portion of the proceeds benefited the Re*Generation. The event was already free!
      Cee Lo had a little too much fun tending bar, drinking some vodka right from the bottle and posing for fans.    Virgin Mobile USA is dedicated to helping the two million children who face bouts of homelessness. The RE*Generation is their effort to empower a generation to help its own. They’re bringing together organizations that care about America’s homeless children and connecting them with young people who want to help. In the previous two years, the corporation raised nearly $300,000 and generated more than 55,000 hours of volunteer time. The second Lucky Magazine Fashion and Beauty Blog Conference & Award Show was held on Wednesday (Sept 7) in a room full of fabulously dressed bloggers, all toting iPads and smart phones.  The show was hosted by Brandon Holley, Editor in Chief of Lucky, the award-winning magazine about shopping and style. Guess who won? FABB Award Nominees/Winners: BEST DESIGN

She even graciously posed with fans. On Goulding’s debut album, Lights (out now), tunes such as “Guns and Horses” “Starry Eyed” and the addictive title track showcase the 24-year-old British singer-songwriter’s ability to blend elements of alternative pop, dance and electronica to an irresistible ethereal effect. While I am still recovering from my whirlwind trip to NYC for Lucky Magazine’s FABB Conference & Awards (I spent a week on the East coast), I just couldn’t wait to get these photos up for you!    |

The latest buzz suggests that the Oscar-nominated actor retaliated against a complete stranger for supposedly sending his wife Michelle Ghent a confession of love in the third degree. Welp, low and behold, the initial call was actually meant for the Hustle and Flow actor himself. Talk about tough love! In return, the anonymous prankster received the following threatening voicemail from Howard on August 31st, now brace yourself: “N**ga, you been calling my wife…If you call my wife again I’m going to come to your house and I’m going to cut your f***ing throat. Understand that. I’m gonna tell you this one time. You call my wife again, I’m going to kill you.” How’s that for fightin’ words? Shocking? Yes…in an attempt to clean up this mess, the actor later phoned and text’d the individual an apology that went something like this: “My wife told me that she was receiving obscene text from you and that she was being harassed. Therefore I responded with the protective nature that a husband has for his wife. Forgive me for the anger, but as you are watching over your girl friend, I too am devoted to my love.” I’m just a little confused here. I thought the Mrs. Terrence Howard had filed for divorce? If anything can be said and done, it has now. What does this mean for their marriage? Apparently, it was already on the rocks. ‘Til death do us part? It ain’t easy being a pimp. |
| Rihanna Wears Armani Underwear Posted: 12 Sep 2011 02:40 PM PDT Looks like Rihanna is the new face of Emporio Armani and girlfriend is looking super fabulous in these just released photos for the brand’s new ad campaign.  I don’t know about you but I am totally digging the blonde wig. The S&M singer looks absolutely skintastic wearing little to nothing— a bra and panties in the seat of an old automobile but it’s Armani people! She isn’t the only one who has sex appeal. The Barbados native joins the ranks of other beautiful faces like: Victoria and David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, Rafael Nada, and Megan Fox who have bared all for the luxe label. Precious lil babe Oliver Michael was born on June 29th in Los Angeles. He weighed in at 8 pounds, 7 ounces. What a big boy! The delightful new duo are over the moon! “We feel so fortunate for every minute we get to spend with our healthy and happy baby.” That’s awesome. You know what else is? Chuck fans can watch the fifth and final season premiering on October 21st on NBC 8/7c. Save the best for last, my friends, the best is yet to come. |
| Madonna’s Love Letter to Hydrangeas (Video) Posted: 12 Sep 2011 12:28 PM PDT In an effort to literally clear the air with Madonna’s love letter to hydrangeas, the Material Girl has posted an apology video to the fan who wilted her worthiness with a bouquet of these purple flowers during a press conference at the Venice Film Festival.  In the recording, the script reads: “Words cannot express how sorry I am. To think I may have caused you pain. My heart is going to burst with sadness. I need to know in time you may forgive me. If I could take back my words I would but I can’t, so what am I left with?” I guess the Madge is still left with the fact that she still absolutely loathes hydrangeas? Hmm, you tell me. The 29-year-old tattoo artist is losing her hair and is starting to wear wigs to hide it. "Kat totally has bald spots and it's from stress," a source reveals. "It's worse than anyone her age should have." "The combination of all the treatments she does to her hair and stress have finally caught up with her. She's started ordering wigs along with the hair pieces and extensions she already uses," the source adds. What could the reality TV star be stressing about so much that it is causing hair loss? Well she is back together with her fiancé and America's most hated cheater, Jesse James. Also, it has been announced that the Kat's TLC show, LA Ink will be cancelled once the current season ends. "I feel really bad for her because the bald spots are horrible," the source said. "The stress of losing her hair is only stressing her out more and making it worse!" Unbeweavable! |
| Posted: 12 Sep 2011 11:41 AM PDT Good lookin’ Aussie star of Spartacus: Blood and Sand has died following an ongoing battle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Such sad, sad news for a beautiful man gone too soon.
Andy Whitfield became famous for his stellar performance in the first season of Spartacus. The hero that we know and love sadly succumbed to this dreadful disease, Sunday. From the cable network Starz, CEO Chris Albrect, offered the following statement: “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Andy Whitfield. We were fortunate to have worked with Andy in ‘Spartacus’ and came to know that the man who played a champion on-screen was also a champion in his own life. Andy was an inspiration to all of us as he faced this very personal battle with courage, strength and grace. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. He will live on in the hearts of his family, friends and fans.” At the time of his passing, the 39-year old gladiator was surrounded by his adoring family after an 18-month long fight with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife and two children. RIP, you were always a true warrior. You may leave your condolences in the comment section below. |

Lucky Magazine held their second Fashion and Beauty (FABB) Conference in New York City on Wednesday (Sept 7), kicking off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and Social Media Week. Allie is Wired was thrilled to be one of their guests. For their second conference this year, Lucky gave bloggers the opportunity to learn how to build, market and expand their brand from fashion moguls such as Diane von Furstenberg. As an activist for female empowerment, Diane shared lifestyle tips for women: 1) The most important relationship you will ever have is the one you make with yourself. 2) All women should have children. 3) It is very important to have an identity outside of your career. Diane also shares Lucky Magazine’s fondness for bloggers — she’s always kept a journal and more importantly, in close contact with her consumers. She truly connects with her fans. Diane von Furstenburg has a tremendous amount of love for humanity saying, “To help, give and inspire is a privilege.”    Other guest speakers included Rebecca Minoff, Rachel Roy and Coco Rocha. Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian gave bloggers some great advice on what it takes to build a business. Kim explained how they went to make-up school (I had to tease her about this :).     The Kardashian sisters answered a few questions while being filmed for their reality series. Surprising, huh? I filmed a little bit too. Bloggers also got a chance to interact with various brands during the breaks as retailers like J Brand, Essie, Express, White House Black Market and the fashion fabulous Marshalls introduced their new lines. (I totally won the hat in the middle image below.)    We can’t thank Marshalls enough for sponsoring our trip to New York City and the Lucky FABB event. | Giuliana Rancic & Leann Rimes Fued ‘Blown Out Of Proportion’ (Listen Here) Posted: 12 Sep 2011 11:13 AM PDT E!'s own Giuliana Rancic went to On Air with Ryan Seacrest today to address the fued between herself and Leann Rimes. The whole fight started on August 30th when Rancic did an interview with the Huffington Post where she said Rimes, "lost a lot of weight from all the stress in her life" and "seems a little thin right now and… looks great when she’s a bit curvier.”
Then because Hollywood is the new Africa and the celebs are the starving children, Giuliana was asked "what celebrity would you like to feed who you think is really skinny right now?" She said on air, “The first person that came to mind — cause that bikini shot of her had just came out — was LeAnn Rimes. I know she’s lost a lot of weight, but I like her when she’s curvier. I interviewed her when her Shape magazine cover just came out, and I thought she looked amazing, and that’s all I said — it was pretty harmless." “I didn’t say she’s ugly skinny or that she needs to gain weight,” defends Rancic. “What’s wrong with saying a girl is pretty [when she's] curvy?” Soon after Giuliana's comments had become public, Rimes took to her Twitter to say: “@GiulianaRancic hey, we should go to dinner sometime. You get criticized all the time for how small you are. You can see just HOW much I eat and maybe put a stop to this crazy 'shrinking' once and for all." In reponse to the tweet attack, Rancic told Seacrest, "You know how Twitter is — you can’t tell the tone of what’s being said." “If someone said to me, I like you curvier, I wouldn’t take that as an insult,” adds Rancic. But it seems the two have made up. Giuliana reveals, “We’ve texted… she’s really cool… we don’t want enemies. We’re gonna get together, have a drink, cause I think this whole thing was kind of blown out of proportion.” Listen to the interview below… Everyone needs to take a step back and look at the situation. According to sources, Cowell was able to get Rihanna and she is going to be a guest judge. One of the premises of the show is that the judges are to bring on guests to help them decide which contestants will continue in the competition. So permanent judge L.A. Reid, who had signed the 'Pon de Replay' singer back in 2005, will be the one to bring her on the show to help him decide. The series premiere is set to air September 21 on FOX.
