| Miley Cyrus Busted For Phone Chat While Driving Posted: 14 Sep 2010 02:20 PM PDT Miley Cyrus is your typical teenager: She chats and chats away on the phone without giving it a second thought. Well, that came to bite her in the butt earlier yesterday.  Shortly after she was caught swapping spit with now on-again boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, she was busted by the police for talking on her cell phone while driving. While driving along solo in West Hollywood, Miley was pulled over by cops for her cell phone chatter. Even though it’s illegal and one could rack up as much as $150 in fines, Miley seemingly got away with it - with only a warning. She has gazillions of dollars and can’t invest in a hands-free device already? | ‘Bachelor Pad’ Finale Winners & Spoilers Posted: 14 Sep 2010 11:56 AM PDT If you haven’t had the chance to watch Monday night’s season finale of “Bachelor Pad”, then you might want to stop reading now. This post contains obvious spoilers for the finale, as well as who won.  Last night, it all came down to the final four in a dance competition. Competing in the dancing contest were couples Jesse and Elizabeth, Kiptyn and Tenley, and Dave Good and Natalie. Melissa Rycroft, Jake Pavelka and Trista Sutter made guest appearances on the show as the finale judges. The couples were asked to dance as if they were competing on “Dancing With The Stars”. After the jump for the winners!! In the end, Natalie Getz and David Good won the prize of $250,000, of which they decided to split amongst themselves. | Gabourey Sidibe Appears On Elle Cover, Much Lighter Posted: 14 Sep 2010 11:28 AM PDT Gabourey Sidibe has landed her first fashion magazine cover, kind of. The 25-year-old ingenue is the solo cover for the October issue of Elle magazine. Starting next month, you can pick up a copy of Elle with Sidibe flashing her pearly whites and glamming it up for the cameras in an emerald green Tadashi Shoji dress.  Except look closely, and you'll notice there's something off in Sidibe's cover photo. Sidibe's skin is noticeably lighter than usual. Elle clearly couldn't handle Sidibe's real skin color, and traded away her actual color for something dramatically lighter. Not only that — but they put an awful wig on her! And that's just one thing Elle got wrong with its Sidibe cover. By cropping Sidibe's cover photo so close, Elle may have been trying to hide her full-figured body—its own travesty—but they only made her seem bigger. Seriously, heads should roll! |
| Snooki: We’ve Been Unfairly Judged by the Public Posted: 14 Sep 2010 11:08 AM PDT Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino says he is used to hearing all kinds of crazy criticism about his fist-pumping castmates. “One time we were in a bar and a guy walked by and said, ‘You are everything that’s wrong with this country today,’” he said Tuesday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “I was taken back by that. There’s the economy, poverty, equal rights — and Jersey Shore is the worst thing that’s wrong?”  Despite New Jersey Governor Chris Christie once declaring that the hit MTV show is bad for the state, Vinny, 21, says, “I think the Jersey Shore is awesome. It’s fun, and it’s entertaining.” Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi insists they don’t just party all the time. “I think no one knows how we really are,” says the guidette, 23. “We have, like, different sides. Obviously you see us on the show we party, we do this, and we do that. But outside of the show, we’re very quiet.” Take Snooki, for example.
Says the pint-sized reality starlet, “I think I want to move forward. I want to move Brooklyn and find a business Italian guy to take care of me.” |
| Penélope Cruz Filming Pirates of the Caribbean While Pregnant! Posted: 14 Sep 2010 10:09 AM PDT A Spanish agency that represents Penelope Cruz says the Oscar-winning Spanish actress is pregnant. The Madrid-based agency Kuranda says in a statement that 36-year-old Cruz is four-and-a-half months pregnant.  Cruz has no children. She married Spanish actor Javier Bardem, 41, in a discreet wedding in the Bahamas in July. They appeared together in the Woody Allen film “Vicky Cristina Barcelona“, for which Cruz won the Oscar for best supporting actress in 2009. In 2008 Bardem won the Oscar for best supporting actor for his role in “No Country for Old Men.” Kuranda gave no more details on Cruz, other than to say she is en route to London to complete filming of “Pirates of the Caribbean: on Stranger Tides.”  I wonder if they are working it into the script — perhaps a young Jack Sparrow? |
| Rachel Zoe To Guest Star On ‘Gossip Girl’ Posted: 14 Sep 2010 09:05 AM PDT “Gossip Girl” is about to get re-styled! The show is gearing up for a guest appearance by stylist to the stars, Rachel Zoe. She’s set to cameo on the hit CW show based around Blair’s 20th birthday party.  In one of the upcoming episodes, Rachel will make an appearance and it all has to do with Blair Waldorf’s 20th birthday bash. An insider said, “Rachel plays herself in the scene and has a handful of lines to remember.” Also joining the cast for the same episode are Cynthia Rowley and Elle magazine’s creative director, Joe Zee.

| The Exorcist Returns to Theaters Posted: 14 Sep 2010 08:41 AM PDT "What an excellent day for an exorcism!" The scariest film of all time is coming back to the big screen for a special one-night event, courtesy of NCM Fathom and Warner Home Video.  For the first time in ten years, The Exorcist will be in theatres along with never-before-seen on-set footage from the making of the film and interviews with director William Friedkin, writer William Peter Blatty and members of the original cast and crew. See the classic that still haunts and unsettles like no other, for one night on Thursday, September 30th. This event will go behind the scenes of The Exorcist in a way you never thought possible. Audiences will be treated to never-before-seen footage shot on the set during production to learn how many legendary scenes were created.
Warner Brothers is set to release the film on Blu-ray, The Exorcist will hit Blu-ray on October 5th. The package will include both the original theatrical and extended director's cut editions of the film, as well as a new, three-part documentary about the film's production and legacy, several commentaries, interviews and a 38-page collector's notebook. What… no Halloween release? Fail! But I’m definitely picking up a copy! |
| Toronto International Film Festival - First 5 Days Posted: 14 Sep 2010 08:33 AM PDT It is now day 6 of the T.I.F.F. and I gotta say, walking around the streets of downtown Toronto has never been crazier. The streets are littered with shutterbugs, both professional and amateur, hoping to get a shot of their favorite celebrity. This year’s festival has proven to be a great one for celeb stalkers, many big names are in town again this year.

Quite a few of Hollywood’s heavy weight actors are in town: Robert DeNiro, Robert Redford, Clint Eastwood, Natalie Portman, Nicole Kidman, Mickey Rourke, Colin Firth, Martin Sheen, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck to just name a few.
I’d have to say my favorite celebrity at this year’s festival has to be Martin Sheen. Friday afternoon outside the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, there were protesters on a 24 hour strike to support a new labor agreement. Sheen cheerfully wore a sign and joined in the protest. What a cool dude!
There are 4 Gala premieres scheduled for this evening: Mavericks:Bruce Springsteen, The Debt, Henry’s Crime, and The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town. The T.I.F.F. wraps up Sunday the 19th. Stay tuned for more coverage! Source - Photos : [Toronto Sun] |
