| Pretty Little Liars - Holly Marie Combs Interview Posted: 22 Jun 2010 02:43 PM PDT What started out as a set of pre-teen novels by author Sara Shepard, turned into one of ABC Family’s most exciting new TV shows. Set in the town of Rosewood, PLL follows the lives, and lies of four friends one year after the disappearance of their clique’s fifth and most secretive member.
Since its premiere two weeks ago, Pretty Little Liars been top of it’s time-slot, with no indication that the momentum will slow. This afternoon I had the pleasure of interviewing one of the stars of PLL, Holly Marie Combs. Combs is best known for her roles as Piper Halliwell on the WB’s Charmed, and as Kimberly Brock on Picket Fences. Holly plays Ella Montgomery, mother of Aria (Lucy Hale) on the new series. On PLL you play Ella Mongomery. Cool, laid back mother of Aria. Is there more to Ella than what we’ve seen so far? I believe so but the writers are very secretive. Ella does have some drama coming up with her husband and home life. Is there anything in particular that you would like to see happen to Ella? She needs to find her swagger, for sure. I think a lot of women lose themselves to their husbands and kids. And wake up 20 years later and wonder how the years passed so quickly. That's so true. Since the birth of your 3rd son Kelley, you've been very selective with the projects you've chosen. What was it about Ella's character/the show that made you want to be a part of it? I can’t be at work everyday. Just can’t with 3 boys. My being does not allow it. So the size and tone of the part appealed to me as did the possibility of being on a show that was this cool. It was almost a little too cool for me with all the issues involved. But I liked that it dealt with kid’s issues of today. And that they do that with brutal honesty on all fronts. It is a bit daring and still fun. And If I can be fortunate enough to do 3 shows that resonate with people somehow somewhere…I really couldn’t ask for more. I was pleasantly surprised by the show, I must say. Wasn't quite sure how the writers were going to adapt the characters to fit TV. Have you been tuning in to watch the show? And if so, what do you think of it so far? I do watch every week and I do know they get better every week. We had a lot of info to get out there with about 20 different characters. This season will encompass all 8 books and then we will have more freedom to explore each of the characters. I was actually curious how they were going to play that out. So next season's story arc is a blank slate, any ideas on what stories the writers might take on? Our writers are very good at surprising people even us. There are too many possibilities. I have not read the finale yet but they promised many twists and turns. Which makes me a little nervous. I have no clue what is ahead for my character.
Haha, well, so long as they don't kill Ella off. Backtracking a little bit… casting you as mother to Lucy Hale can't have been a coincidence. There is too much of a resemblance. Were you hand picked for the role? I am not sure how they came up with me. I do know my agent said that I probably wasn’t going to want to do it cuz it was the mom of a 16yr. Then I reminded everyone how young my own mother is. So that part didn’t freak me out a bit. It is my normal. My mom is only 15 yrs older. I don't think it's possible for Hollywood to create a role that you can't pull off. Is there anything else that you'd like our readers to know? Just that I appreciate my fans for standing by me through thick and thin. My part may be a little thin for the moment, but I promise to make it up to everyone eventually. I am a workaholic to the core. But I also will never give my kids to say I was never around enough for them. So once I figure out that formula I’ll tweet u. Pretty Little Liars has been #1 in its timeslot two weeks in a row. Congratulations on what appears to be another success Yeah I can’t believe my luck. 3 for 3? They must be killing me off soon. | Jerry Seinfeld HATES Lady Gaga Posted: 22 Jun 2010 12:01 PM PDT Looks like Yankee and Mets fans aren't the only ones who were scorned by Lady Gaga's drunken antics at her two baseball game stops.
First Gaga was attempting to "go unnoticed" at Shea stadium by getting drunk, flipping off fans and throwing a fit after being sat front row at the game. She was then moved to a private box that was apparently being paid for by Jerry Seinfeld.
Well, you can pretty much take a dump in the dugout when you boast celebrity status and enough money to buy your own country. Perhaps they were concerned she would actually go twosies in the dugout and perhaps that is why they moved her. Regardless, he continued to voice his distaste…
This was followed with another ball game debacle at the Yankee Clubhouse which led to Gaga hitting the cover of Sunday's NY Post. They say there is no such thing as bad press, but I am slowly loosing respect. Thoughts? |

Twilight fans in Los Angeles began camping out at Nokia Plaza on Monday. The world premiere is this Thursday, June 24th. Fans are arriving, and setting up camp several days early, to try to get a wristband which allows them a prime spot on the red carpet viewing area. Tents and posters were everywhere. “Rob, you ROBBED my heart!” read one of the signs. I guess when you’re obsessed, you’re kinda creepy.

| Nicole Richie Probation Failure Posted: 22 Jun 2010 11:38 AM PDT Despite morphing into a working mother with two gorgeous babies, the court has slapped Nicole Richie with another year of probation.
In case you forgot, the former BFF of Paris Hilton has a DUI under her belt. In 2006 she was arrested after being caught drunk behind the wheel and driving the wrong way on the freeway in L.A. Her probation period was due to end, but it has been extended by a judge who was not moved by her excuse of not being able to complete all the requirements.

In a new spread for “New York Magazine”, Helen let it all hang out!  In promoting her new movie, “Love Ranch”, Helen has decided to take it all off - and pose for this nude bathtub photo shoot. Helen has signed up to play Grace Botempo in the flick, which will see her take on the role of a madam at a brothel.
I love it! The movie is based off of the real life Mustang Ranch, which is located in Nevada. Her husband, Taylor Hackford is directing the movie and for research, he wanted her to visit the Ranch, but she refused. She said, “I said, ‘Read my lips: I’m not going to spend a night in a brothel.’ It’s amazing how quickly you get into dildos everywhere and pink-feather handcuffs. | Celebrities Support Larry King’s ‘Disaster In The Gulf’ Telethon Posted: 22 Jun 2010 10:44 AM PDT Larry King brought out his celebrity pals to the CNN Building in Los Angeles, California on Monday evening to assist in raising much-needed funds to help with the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  With Justin Bieber, Ryan Seacrest, Ke$ha, Nicole Richie and Pete Wentz among those on-hand, the Hollywood stars busily answered phones during the two-hour telethon special “Disaster in the Gulf: How You Can Help“. In the end, Larry and the gang raked in over $1 million to be dished out to United Way, the National Wildlife Foundation and the Nature Conservancy. Other big names pitching in on the worthwhile cause included Cameron Diaz, Chelsea Handler, Jenny McCarthy, Giuliana Rancic, Kathy Griffin, Alyssa Milano, Randy Jackson and Ian Somerhalder. |
| Christina Aguilera Fan Sticks It To Perez Hilton Posted: 22 Jun 2010 09:59 AM PDT Perez Hilton has been on a constant campaign to smear Christina Aguilera for some reason. She sang at one of his birthday parties in an effort to gain some favor with the blogger, but it’s not panning out for her. Since he’s been on the Lady Gaga bandwagon, he’s been trying to stick it to Christina.  Her first single from the album, “Not Myself Tonight” was obviously not her best song from “Bionic”, but it was still better than what he’s making it out to be. He’s dubbed the singer “FlopTina” and trashes her at any given opportunity. What he forgets is that people in the record business see that and they know that he has absolutely no taste in music whatsoever. His commenters know, too, because they have to be sick and tired of him bashing someone with real talent. All the while, he’s promoting Katy Perry, Travis Garland and Sliimy (remember him??) One Christina fan got fed up with his antics and took $3,000 to the record store and purchased 250 copies of her new CD. Not only that, but this fan plans on selling them in China, where the CD hasn’t yet made its debut. In an artful message to Perez, you can check out what this uber-fan spelled out with the CDs. We love it!  We’re just waiting for the day when he crawls back into the hole he came from, back into obscurity.
