Lady Gaga Falls For Twitter Hoax Posted: 03 Jun 2010 09:17 PM PDT Was Lady Gaga the victim of a twisted Twitter hoax? A Crushable blogger claims a 15-year-old girl named Ana, who allegedly tweeted under the Twitter handle @analilmonster and allegedly died from cancer this morning, may not actually exist. Ms. Gaga Goo linked to the incredibly moving story of a 15-year-old fan who apparently died this morning. According to an investigation, it appears that Gaga and her fans may have been the victim of a very cruel hoax. Doh’ you think? This morning, a Twitter user named "JoelxSoul" tweeted: "This is a moment of sadness, as I have to share the news I hoped I'd never have to share. This a.m. my baby sister Ana (@analilmonster as you probably know her) lost her, almost 5 year old, battle against acute lymphocytic leukemia." He then writes about Ana's bravery, and her enduring love for Lady Gaga. He asks for privacy for the family, but also asks everyone's help in passing this story on to Gaga. He then tweeted identical messages to three people who had corresponded with "Analilmonster" on twitter. "I'm asking my sister's contact's on her profile to help me get this http://tl.gd/1l8ndr to Lady Gaga by RT. #RIPlilmonster." Within a few hours, the story had reached Lady Gaga, who retweeted it. Here's Gaga's response: There are a number of troubling clues to suggest that this a hoax: 1. Ana's Twitter account is only five days old. 2. She discusses only cancer and Gaga, and is apparently not connected on Twitter to anyone that she's met in real life. 3. She mentions her brother, but never her parents, and provides no details of where she is, except for a reference to Gaga being a trending topic in Baltimore. 4. She @messages some other Gaga fans on Twitter, and on Tuesday night is discovered by a Twitter user called "edwitched," who tells his followers about her. She tells one of her new Twitter friends that she's not on Facebook. Meanwhile, Joel's Twitter has only existed since last night, when he tweeted "@Analilmonster Hi love you baby sis. Have a good night, princess." He followed up this morning with 13 tweets about her death and her feelings for Gaga, all in the space of an hour, before going quiet again. He writes that he doesn't want media attention, but leaves absolutely no way for Gaga, or anyone else, to get in touch with him. It seems unlikely that Joel would start his Twitter the day before his sister died, with a single message to her, and that he would be so focused on getting her story spread throughout Twitter immediately after her death. And I find it sickening that people would do things like this… balloon boy. Are you following Allie on Twitter yet?

Spencer Pratt, ‘Mountain Man Moron’ Posted: 03 Jun 2010 03:20 PM PDT Spencer Pratt channeled his inner mountain man, as a way of dealing with his split from wife Heidi Montag. The moron went running on the trails in Malibu, heavily bearded in complete hiking attire, holding onto a walkie talkie and a water bottle. Montag has allegedly initiated legal separation from Pratt, her husband of one year, and has reportedly moved in with friend Jen Bunney. New ‘Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ Promo Video Posted: 03 Jun 2010 10:28 AM PDT The day is quickly approaching for all of you Twi-hards to get your Edward Cullen fix! To tide you over, we’ve just got our grubby little hands on this new TV spot for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and you can check it out here! The new television ad is called “Something New” and it features the newborn vampires that have come to lay claim on Seattle. ‘Golden Girls’ Star Rue McClanahan Has Passed Away Posted: 03 Jun 2010 08:45 AM PDT It is with a heavy heart that I announce the news that “Golden Girls” star Rue McClanahan has passed away last night. Her manager, Barbara Lawrence, said, “She passed away at 1 a.m. this morning. She had a massive stroke.” Earlier this year, Rue had suffered a minor stroke while recovering from bypass surgery. Lawrence added that Rue “had her family with her. She went in peace.” Estelle Getty, who played Sophia on the show, passed away in 2008. Bea Arthur, who played Dorothy Zbornak, passed away last year after losing a battle with cancer. Thankfully, Betty White is still with us and has enjoyed renewed success as host of a recent episode of “Saturday Night Live” and her new show, “Hot In Cleveland.” Here’s a favorite moment of mine of Rue as Blanche Devereaux: So sad.
