In an interview with the Guardian, Sendak rants about everything from e-books, Rupert Murdoch, to himself — “I have to accept my role. I will never kill myself like Vincent Van Gogh. Nor will I paint beautiful water lilies like Monet. I can’t do that. I’m in the idiot role of being a kiddie book person.” 
New York: “You get pushed and harassed and people grope you. It’s too tumultuous, it’s too crazy!” Rupert Murdoch: “His name should be what everything is called now.” But he publishes you! “Yes! Harpers. He owns Harpers and I guess the rest of the world, too. He represents how bad things have become. But I don’t know a better house. They’re all in trouble. They’re all terrible.” American politics: “These Republican schnooks would be comical if they weren’t not funny.” Salman Rushdie: “That flaccid [BLEEP]. He was detestable. I called up the Ayatollah, nobody knows that.” Roald Dahl: “The cruelty in his books is off-putting. Scary guy. I know he’s very popular but what’s nice about this guy? He’s dead, that’s what’s nice about him.” Stephen King: “Bullsh#t.” Gwyneth Paltrow: “I can’t stand her.” Don’t feel bad Gwyneth … at least you’re not “bullsh#t.” |
| Dancing With The Stars Sends Kristin Cavallari Back To The Hills (Video) Posted: 04 Oct 2011 06:44 PM PDT Kristin Cavallari is headed for the Hills. Tonight’s results show on Dancing With The Stars was a bit shocking, even for the dancing diva herself.
"I'm a little surprised, to be honest, but I've had such a great time and I've had an awesome experience so it is what it is.” Kristin definitely had quite the potential to become a finalist in the competition, especially with her sexy samba that was awarded not only a standing ovation by the audience but a solid score of 24 out of 30! I think I agree with Judge Len Goodman, "This is truly crazy.” Even after a jawdropping elimination that stunned a majority of America this evening, Kristin was still smiling as she and her dancing partner Mark Ballas danced their last dance. Joining the couple in the hot seat tonight was contestant Hope Solo and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. I guess for them, they apparently brought sexy back, at least enough for the viewers. But can she walk the walk? Girlfriend better get to work! Tonight was also action-packed with entertainers performed by R&B queen Mary J. Blige, singer Estelle, and the legendary Chubby Checker, even I was doing the twist! But as always, the show must go on! So it’s time to bring it for the remaining contestants: Carson Kressley, Chaz Bono, Chynna Phillips, David Arquette, Hope Solo, J.R. Martinez, Nancy Grace, Ricki Lake, and Rob Kardashian. According to last night, Chicago Bears’ quarterback may have been Kristen’s biggest fan, and perhaps still is, seen cheering from the sidelines during America’s favorite dancing competition Dancing With The Stars. While Cavallari and dance partner Mark Ballas performed a sweaty samba to Crazy in Love by Beyonce, big Jay was seen smiling from the hot seat that has got everyone talking. “Well, I have nothing to do with that,” says the former Hills star, “I don’t direct where the camera goes.” Fair enough. The dancing duo scored a whopping 24 out of 30 points, which puts them in a deserving fifth place on the show, a job well done. When it comes to any competition, all is fair in love and war. |

LA Ink star, Kat Von D has decided to start hitting the studio and is putting together some tracks. Jesse James‘ Ex told E! News. “I’ve been passionate about music all my life. I’ve been playing classical piano since I was six. So I understand the form, but it will be fun to be able to translate a message.” “I think it’s much like tattooing or the TV show or make-up, my clothing line, fashion," adds Kat. "All those things, they’re just different outlets to be able to be creative. So music, I think it’s going to be one of those things.” Some of Von D's musical influences include Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC, Depeche Mode and The Cure. So what will the album be like? Well the 29-year-old tattoo artist revealed that it would definitely showcase her “dark, more tragically romantic” side. Kat Von D and Jesse James split in September and according to a source this time it is 100% official. “They are done, through and through finished, split, game over,” the source said. “They are both confident that they won’t be giving it another go. It’s the end of the road for them. “I think it just fizzled out between them. They were hot and heavy to start, but once the sexual attraction started waning there wasn’t really anything left to sustain a relationship." So will you buy Kat's soon-to-come album? Blake Lively and Leonardo DiCaprio have broken up, after a mere five months of dating. Representatives for the couple have confirmed it to Us Weekly that they have split, but will “remain friends”. The canned response. Did the reported infidelities cause the break-up? Lively’s relationship to DiCaprio created quite a buzz particularly because he only called it quits with girlfriend of five years, Bar Refaeli, weeks before. Despite refusing to confirm their relationship in the five months they were dating, Leonardo, 35, and Blake, 24, were spotted on a string of dates throughout the summer including trips on a yacht in Disneyland, California, and a water taxi in Venice, Italy. The anchor of the Fox network's Sunday prime-time schedule, and the longest-running sitcom in the history of broadcasting, might stop production after the current 23rd season ends next spring.  The Daily Beast is reporting the studio and the six principal actors who voice the characters have reached a negotiating impasse. While contract disputes are not out of the ordinary, what’s different here, says the Beast, is that for the first time in nearly a quarter century of contract haggling, the executives have insisted that if the cast doesn’t accept a 45 percent pay cut, The Simpsons will cease to exist as a first-run series. There has been 23 seasons, isn’t that enough? |

Jessica Simpson might be pregnant — at least she’s acting pregnant. The singer was spotted having lunch with fiancé Eric Johnson in LA and a witness has said, “I definitely think she’s pregnant.” Apparently, she ate A LOT. “She ordered a ton of food. She has to be pregnant,” said the onlooker, adding, “She didn’t have any alcohol to drink, either. There looked to be a cocktail on the table, but I didn’t see her drink it. She was sipping a Perrier and nibbling off her fiancé’s plate — the cocktail was obviously Eric’s.” She always eats like this, no? Simpson continued to fuel pregnancy rumors at an in-store appearance at Macy’s as she held the child of an admirer during a photo op. Simpson has long expressed her own desire to start a family. |
| Posted: 04 Oct 2011 06:50 AM PDT Rachel Uchitel has tied the proverbial knot. Yes, Matt Hahn apparently went there. TMZ has learned she got hitched over the weekend. We’ve obtained documents from Clark County, Nevada, showing Rachel and Matt got a marriage license Sunday night and filed it with the court the next day at 8:58 AM.  She tweeted a picture of them saying: “He’s the best thing that’s happened to me in as long as I can remember.” Matt was a football player at Penn State and is now a businessman in San Francisco. The two have been living together in San Fran for several months. Matt is 26. Rachel says she’s 36. Rachel — famous for her fling with Tiger Woods and a $10 million settlement — was married in 2004 but it only lasted 4 months. |
