| ‘The Nanny’ Cast - Where Are They Now? Posted: 10 Aug 2010 05:40 PM PDT If you ever wondered what happened to the cast of “The Nanny”, then wonder no more. Allie’s got you covered!  Fran Drescher - Fran Fine  She played nutty annoying voiced nanny Fran Fine on the show. In 2000, Fran was admitted into the hospital and was diagnosed with uterine cancer. She underwent a hysterectomy as a result and was deemed cancer free. She then wrote a book called “Cancer Schmancer” to empower people to realize the signs and symptoms of cancer and to raise awareness. She also runs cancerschmancer.org, a non-profit setup for people to learn about early detection. In September 2008, Drescher, a Democrat, was appointed as a U.S. diplomat by the U.S. State Department. Her official title is Public Diplomacy Envoy for Women’s Health Issues. She eyed a congressional seat, but decided against it when Kirsten Gillibrand was appointed to succeed Hilary Clinton. In April 2010, she was the guest of honor at the Dancer Against Cancer charity ball. Charles Shaughnessy - Maxwell Sheffield  Charles played millionaire Maxwell Sheffield on the show, but afterward he appeared in a TV movie called “Get A Clue”. After that, he also appeared on “Mom’s Got A Date With A Vampire”, “Sabrina”, “Stargate SG-1″, “Mad Men”, “Law & Order” and “CSI: NY”, to name a few. He became the fifth Baron Shaughnessy in December 2007, when his cousin passed away. Daniel Davis - Niles  One of my favorite characters on the show, Niles, played by Daniel Davis, wasn’t always as sarcastic as he appeared. He received a nomination for Best Actor in “Wrong Mountain”. He also played Professor Moriarty in the episodes "Elementary, Dear Data" and "Ship in a Bottle” of “Star Trek: The Next Generation”. He also appeared in “Talking Heads”, “The Frogs”, “Frasier”, “The Prestige” and “Ugly Betty”. His IMDB page lists credits all the way back to 1970. His stint on “Star Trek: TNG” was one of my favorites of the series. Lauren Lane - Chastity Claire ‘C.C’ Babcock  Lane was married to David Wilkins. Lane has a daughter Kate (born February 23, 1998) with Wilkins. In 2004, she appeared in the reunion of The Nanny entitled The Nanny Reunion: A Nosh to Remember, starring Fran Drescher and much of the original cast. Nicholle Tom - Margaret ‘Maggie’ Sheffield  Tom currently stars in the IFC original The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman as Tara, an underling at a film production company. Also, in the early 1990s, she played ‘Ryce Newton’ in the successful family movie “Beethoven” and the sequel “Beethoven’s 2nd”. She did not appear in “Beethoven’s 3rd” and “Beethoven’s 4th” as she had grown up too much for her specific role, although she did reprise her role as the voice of Ryce in the cartoon spinoff. From 1998–2006 she provided the voice for “Supergirl in the DC Animated Universe”. In 2000, she played Sarah Bryan in the Fox Family TV film “Ice Angel” as well as Tracy in “Panic”. In 2001, she portrayed a teen reporter named Cassie in “The Princess Diaries”. She starred in the Lifetime movie “Her Only Child”, which premiered on March 22, 2008. She guest starred alongside brother David (who played her character’s brother) in an episode of “Criminal Minds” which originally aired on April 2, 2008. She also guest starred on an episode of “Cold Case” which aired on May 4, 2008. Benjamin Salisbury - Brighton Sheffield  An accomplished dancer, Salisbury would often treat “The Nanny” studio audiences to improvisational routines when the cameras weren't rolling. He also played Martin Short's son in the 1992 film “Captain Ron”, and appeared in “D3: The Mighty Ducks” as the sports announcer. Was also lined up to play Bart Simpson in the “Simpsons” live-action movie which was greenlit at the height of Simpsons mania in 1992. In August 2006, Salisbury was featured in Domino’s pizza commercials featuring Fudge-ums, Domino's then-new mini-brownies. As of 2010, he currently works for the NHL team, the Los Angeles Kings. Madeline Zima - Grace Sheffield  Zima has become known for her work in films such as “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle” and having most recently appeared in the Hilary Duff film “A Cinderella Story” and the soon to be released films: “Dimples”, “Looking for Sunday”, “Once in a Very Blue Moon” and “Legacy” alongside Hillary Duff’s sister Haylie Duff. In 2007, Zima played Mia Cross, a sexually precocious and worldly 16-year old, on the series “Californication”. Zima returned for a second season of “Californication” in 2008 reprising her role as bratty 17-year-old Mia. In promotion of Mia’s book, “F*cking and Punching”, Zima starred in several “Californication” webisodes that are featured on YouTube. In 2009, Zima joined the cast of “Heroes” as Gretchen, Claire Bennet’s quirky bisexual roommate and tentative love interest. She stars as Jill in the 2009 release “The Collector”. | Fantasia Barrino Attempts Suicide Posted: 10 Aug 2010 05:07 PM PDT “American Idol” alum Fantasia Barrino was caught up in a bit of a sex tape scandal with married man, Antwuan Cook. She reportedly got “Cook” tattoo’d onto herself after being photographed with him in Barbados.  His wife, Paula, then started blabbing to tabloids that Fantasia and Antwuan’s sexcapades were caught on tape. Last night, Fantasia was rushed to a hospital in North Carolina after swallowing a mixture of what was said to be aspirin and a sleep aid. She’s said to be currently in stable condition and it wasn’t revealed as to what kind of sleep aid she took. What has us wondering is why she did it? Was the sex tape info made public to boost sales for her new album coming out? Or was that the cause of her suicide attempt? It was said that her overdose was due to being overwhelmed by a lawsuit brought on by Paula Cook for criminal conversion. What that means basically is that Paula is suing Fantasia for having sex with a married man, her husband. That reportedly overpowered her and made her want to end it all. Thoughts? | Justin Bieber & Kim Kardashian’s ‘Elle’ Photo Shoot Posted: 10 Aug 2010 10:26 AM PDT Remember when Kim Kardashian spent some time in the Bahamas with teen singer Justin Bieber? Well, these photos are the result of their rumor-filled vacation.  The twosome frolicked on the beach for this photo shoot for “Elle” magazine. They met at the White House Correspondents Dinner where she tweeted that she had Bieber fever. He then tweeted that she was his girlfriend, causing mass hysteria with his fans, the Beliebers. They are a strange pairing, considering how old she is and how she posed with him. She’s 29 and he’s 16 and it just looks weird. Don’t you think? And don’t you just love the black and white pic of Kim? She really looks like a tranny there…no offense to trannies anywhere, I’m just sayin’. What do you think of the photo shoot? | Posted: 10 Aug 2010 07:53 AM PDT When President Obama appeared on “The View” on July 29th, he talked about some pop culture musings, but when “Jersey Shore” star Snooki’s name popped up, he claimed ignorance.  He said, “I don’t know who that is”, when asked about the reality TV star. Little did he know/recall, but he had mentioned her name as part of a joke at the White House Correspondents Dinner earlier this year. He said about the new tanning tax provision, “The following individuals shall be excluded from the indoor tanning tax within this bill: Snooki, JWOWW, The Situation and House minority leader John Boehner.” Maybe he really didn’t know who she was, but perhaps his writers injected that piece into his joke for a punchline. But, Snooki’s having none of it. She’s calling out our Commander In Chief, saying he needs to stop lying. She said, “”I know he knows who I am. Why did he have to lie and say he didn’t know me? He did say Snooki and JWoww about the tanning stuff and now he doesn’t know who I am? He has to stop lying.” Snap!
