Wired Exclusive: Contest for ABC’s ‘Once Upon a Time’

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 05:25 AM PST

One of the most exciting new shows this season, ABC‘s Once Upon a Time ties together a complex series of characters who cross over into two thoroughly differing worlds.

You’ve got the fairy tale world where characters we know and love such as Snow White, Cinderella, and Pinocchio try to fight back against the tyrannous Evil Queen. We also have the world of seeming reality, a place where the fairy stories of yore fall into a curse where no one has a happy ending.

The ingenious team behind the creation of this stellar program are the same writers who brought us the hit show LOST.

Interestingly enough, Once Upon A Time frequently pays homage to LOST using subtle references.

An example of this is when Emma and Mary Margaret are sharing a drink of whiskey together in the episode called “The Shepherd“.

The ladies are drinking MacCutcheon Scotch Whisky, which is a fictional brand of scotch that was frequently imbibed throughout the LOST series.

And I don’t know if you caught this one or not, but if you remember back to the pilot episode, the town’s clocktower is stuck at 8:15. Well, LOST followed the survivors of the crash of Oceanic flight number 815.

These are just a couple of examples of references to LOST that the creative team of Adam Horowitz, and Edward Kitsis came up with to tease and play with their audience.

If you’re into trivia as much as I am, then mosey over to Storybrooke Secrets and see what other little tidbits you can discover about the show.

Speaking of LOST references, Allie is Wired, in partnership with ABC Television are gonna hook up one of our lucky readers with an anthology of fairy tale stories.

HOW TO ENTER: All you have to do to win is scroll down to the comments section below, and list off any references to either LOST or to other fairy tales that you have discovered while watching the show.

Make sure you enter your email address so we can notify you if you win. The contest will run until 12:01 AM EST on December 26th, and you can enter as often as you want.

Winner will be notified via email, and will be chosen at random from available entries.

It’s that easy!

And don’t forget to tune in to watch Once Upon A Time on ABC, Sunday nights at 8/7c. Or, if you’ve missed an ep or two, you can log onto the show’s official site where you’ll find the entire series available to stream until January 7, 2012.

Good luck everyone, and Happy Holidays!!

Willow Smith Releases ‘Fireball feat. Nicki Minaj’ (Video)

Posted: 18 Dec 2011 07:34 PM PST

Willow Smith is back and she has an all new single called 'Fireball'.

This is the follow-up to her previous singles 'Whip My Hair' and '21st Century Girl'.

Nicki Minaj joins the young Willow, rapping more family friendly lyrics than her most recent solo release 'Roman In Moscow' which is to promote her next album.

Although the song does have the potential to captivate the pre-teen market, like '21st Century Girl' the song doesn't seem to have that mass appeal that made 'Whip My Hair' such a success.

Even with the addition of Minaj the music video screams 'Kidz Bop'.

Anyways, check it out below…

Kobe Bryant Cheated With Multiple Women

Posted: 18 Dec 2011 11:47 AM PST

It looks like it was cheating that ended Kobe Bryant's marriage.

According to sources connected to the couple, Vanessa Bryant caught the NBA star "very recently" cheating on her which fueled her to file for divorce.

It has been revealed that Vanessa had caught Kobe with "multiple women" over the years and this was the final straw.

A source says that Vanessa is still in love with Kobe, but she just can't stand his cheating any longer.

I guess there weren't enough diamond rings to keep her around.
