| Kobe Bryant’s Wife Files For Divorce Posted: 16 Dec 2011 07:15 PM PST
The basketball superstar's wife filed the divorce papers today, Friday December 16th. The reason for divorce is being cited as irreconcilable differences on the papaers filed at the Superior Court of California in the city of Orange. Vanessa is being represented by lawyer, Laura Wasser, the same high profile lawyer that represented Maria Shriver in her divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger. In the statement issued by the couple issued through their publicist, the couple asked for privacy "during this difficult time." The statement went on to say, “The Bryants have resolved all issues incident to their divorce privately with the assistance of counsel and a Judgment dissolving their marital status will be entered in 2012.” “We ask that in the interest of our young children and in light of the upcoming holiday season the public respect our privacy during this most difficult time.” The couple has been through quite a bit of drama, most famously the scandal in which Kobe was accused of raping a worker at a Colorado hotel. Bryant did eventually admit to having sex with the 19-year-old Katelyn Faber, but denied rape. After the court case Kobe bought his wife a huge diamond ring, guess that wasn't enough to keep them together years later. |

On the December 16th episode, during a serious discussion with Claire Danes about homeland security issues, Whoopi lifted a cheek and cut a big ol' fart.  Joy Behar sat in horror, as Goldberg put her hand on her stomach and said, “Excuse me, I just let a frog out of there.” Was that on purpose? When contacted for a comment, an ABC spokesperson insisted Goldberg didn’t do the crime. “It was a joke. Every time there is a fun noise she pretends it was her.” Do you think Whoopi farted? |

Charlize Theron has slammed ‘Hello Kitty‘ and the thirty-something year-old women who wear it. During The New York Times’ TimesTalk panel in NYC Friday, the 36-year-old actress said she prepared for her role in Young Adult by exploring the oddities of women her age. “I’m pretty amazed by Hello Kitty. I see so many women in their 30s walking around in Hello Kitty sh-t and nobody is concerned for them,” Theron said. “It’s the one iconic teenage symbol that seems okay for women in their 30s? The world seems to not have an issue with it.” My mother wears Hello Kitty slippers, she’s in her 70′s. |

Britney Spears and Jason Trawick are engaged! The singer implied as much in a tweet this morning: "OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo" Jason would be Jason Trawick, her former agent and boyfriend of more than a year. TMZ reported that Trawick planned to pop the question to Spears in Las Vegas Thursday night, on his 40th birthday. According to Us Weekly, Spears has been expecting it. "This is something they've both wanted for a long time," a source told the magazine. "It's a way to cement their family. They're both extremely happy and can't wait to become man and wife." It’s really good to see Britney so happy. Congrats! |
| Christian Bale Pushed Around by Chinese Authorities (Video) Posted: 16 Dec 2011 08:17 AM PST Christian Bale was promoting a film he made in China that some critics have called propaganda, when he was physically stopped by government-backed guards from visiting a blind activist living under house arrest.  The plan went awry when guards began aggressively pushing Bale away, which CNN all caught on tape. The video footage shows Bale asking to see Chen, with a CNN producer providing interpretation, but being ordered by one of the guards to leave. He then asked why he was unable to pass through. The guards responded by trying to grab or punch a small video camera Bale was carrying. “What I really wanted to do was to meet the man, shake his hand and say what an inspiration he is,” Bale was quoted as saying by CNN. How come he didn’t unleash ‘The Batman’? |
