Posted: 04 Feb 2010 12:33 PM PST Want some racism with a side of blackeyed peas for Black History Month? NBC has got you covered. QuestLove of The Roots, snapped the below photo in the cafeteria showing NBC employees what’s for lunch. In honor of Black History Month, NBC posted the cafeteria sign above, which shows the menu items: Fried chicken, collared greens with smoked turkey, white rice/blackeyed peas and jalapeno cornbread. A Dave Chappelle quote comes to mind here: “I didnt know that I was predisposed to liking chicken”. It seems that NBC is not doing themselves any PR favors even after the Conan O’Brien kerfuffle. Some say it’s a Soul Food plate and they don’t see where the offense lies. Others say that they are truly offended at this obvious racism. Is it just like serving cornbeef and cabbage on St. Patrick’s Day? NBCU has setup a Twitter account to apologize with this message: The sign in the NBCU cafeteria has been removed. We apologize for anyone who was offended by it.Meanwhile, QuestLove has opted to leave it alone: i think i need a twitter break. i done started something. and now i must put out fire.Your thoughts? source: NBC Celebrates Black History Month - [gone hollywood] |

Posted: 04 Feb 2010 08:14 AM PST Kanye West is giggling on Mount Douche. Taylor Swift has received a slew of negative feedback regarding her performance at the 2010 Grammy Awards. The tween queen sang a duet with Stevie Nicks and it wasn’t exactly her best work. Reportedly she rehearsed with the legend twice at the Staples Center before the live performance. “The biggest message is (the critics) are not getting it,” Borchetta said. “Because the facts say she is the undisputed best communicator that we’ve got. When she says something, when she sings something, when she feels something, it affects more people than anybody else. What did you think of the performance? [Huffington Post] |
Posted: 04 Feb 2010 07:36 AM PST “I hate Valentine’s Day,” Kutcher tells Parade magazine. “I think every day should be a day of romance,” he says. “Then, on Valentine’s Day, you should get to tell whoever you hate that you cannot stand them. There would be one day of hating, and 364 days of love.”Kutcher goes on to say he's never liked the most romantic day of the year ever since he was spurned by a girl from his schooldays who apparently didn’t get the message when he gave her a Valentine’s Day card, which read ‘Kiss Me.’ He said: ‘The tragedy was that she didn’t get the point and I never got kissed."Wow. This guy is married to Demi Moore and he is still bitter over a school girl crush? He has seen his bank account and wife right? [Click Thumbnails for a Larger Image] |
